Hi!!! from Tennessee.
I live in a small town called Clinton. In my past i have had a new 76 (red) 2.3L 4 speed manual Mustang, a new 80 (red) 2.3L 4 speed manual Mustang but totaled that one, then 6 months later bought another new 80 (gray) 2.3L 4 speed manual Mustang. In 86 i bought a new (blue) 3.8L automatic Mustang.
I'm old LOL!!!, and after 3 failed marriages and my children are grown and on their own i feel it's time to go back to the Mustang. I was looking at the 2010 GT's. I have to get an automatic because of a messed up left leg. The GT only gets one mile per gallon (gas) over all average less than the 4.0L, so the GT looks like the best way to go. Now this is where my problem begins. Searching the internet i start reading rumors about the 2011 Mustang getting a 3.7L V-6 engine with 315 horsepower. Do you all (said in a southern accent) think this is true? If this is true, i might have to wait and see how this engine runs and what gas mileage it gets.
I just want to say Hi!!! to everyone. This seems to be a pretty good forum.

This is the best Mustang forum in existence! Welcome to the Site! A lot of rumors are floating around about power increases for 2011 for both the v6 and GT. If you aren't in a hurry to buy, I don't think it could be a bad idea to wait and see what 2011 brings. Then you can choose what you want once you have all the facts. If you dont want a 2011 at that time, there will be deal to be made on remaining 2010s. again Welcome!

I know where that is Marz. I grew up in Oak Ridge, class of 71 LOL!!! All of my life some of my family had farms in Dutch Valley. Now my parents live in Dutch Valley. If you know where Dutch Valley is, the long straightway at the beginning of Dutch Valley road is where i do my performance runs (0 to 60). "Small World" isn't it!

It's a small world. This looks like it's going to be a nice forum. I can't wait to get my Mustang. I hope it's no longer than a couple of months. Then i hope i don't have to order one from the factory. I'm leaning toward a sterling gray GT premimun with an automatic (bad left leg).

Welcome to the forum David.
I don't know whether you should wait or not. That's kind of a big decision. The 315hp V6 is no guaruntee. It will be the 3.7 liter but the numbers remain to be seen. Though I think that's pretty close.
These 4.6 liter V-8's are great motors. You can actually get really good gas mileage with them if you can keep your foot out of the floorboard. Before I went crazy with mods I was getting abuot 19 with city driving and 24-26 on the highway. I bet the current V-6 isn't much better than that.
Plus in Texas they are already advertising $2,000 cash back AND 0% financing for 36 months. So there are deals to be made on the 2010 GT.
Personally I'd get the 2010 GT of my choice. IMHO

I think your right. I'm really waiting for an insurance settlement from when i got rear-ended 2 1/2 years ago. My lawyer called me last week to tell me they are starting to talk about money. I hope the end is near. My Dad told me today, " Son, if i were you, i would go get the Mustang you want as soon as the money is in the bank". LOL!!! That's what i'll more than likely do.
I'm going to drive down 25w to see where it is because i kind of dated a girl that lived in that area but never paid much attention to the name of the neighborhood. In the next few days or until this rain stops. It's been raining for the past several days.
