öh..ok.

But why can I see that they are clones?
First of all, Welcome.

Sometimes those clones looks so real and its really hard to see if the car is original or clone. There are ways ... For example, 2nd link that you posted said that car was made in 1965 and have 302 engine. Shelby didn't offer 302 in Shelbys in 1965. Only year that Shelby offered 302 in Mustang was in 1968. Another thing is VIN number. Shelby Mustangs had different VIN numbers than regular Mustangs. And if price is cheap there is 99.9% possibility that the car is clone. Those cars are worth a lot today, no one would sell Shelby Mustang for $12,000, no matter in how good or bad condition car is.

Check eBay more often, maybe there are none at this moment.

By the way, how are you planing to drive that car even if you buy it? In Europe you have to be 18 to drive (I was born in Europe too and I lived there until I was 15).

yes I know!

But I think it takes a few years to find the right Shelby. So when I have my Shelby I can drive!

Hey Sven, welcome to the site.

It's hard to come across a Shelby Mustang, I had a hard enough time finding my Mustang. If you cannot find a Shelby Mustang, I know you will be very happy with another Mustang. There are a lot of cool Fords besides Mustangs too, Fairlanes, Falcons, Galaxies, and they don't cost as much, may be rarer, and might be faster. Best of luck finding a Mustang!

How do the VINs on Shelbys differ? I have a 13-digit VIN on one I'm looking at, I want to see if it's a clone or the real thing.

They would start with SFM (Shelby Ford Mustang). Then model year (example: 5 for 1965), then purpose (s for street, r for race) and then consecutive unit number (example: 001 to 562).
At least that's what Standard Catalog of Mustang said.

Depending on the Year. I still know my 68 VIN # number by heart and jknow what the characters all mean!

Shelby VIN's

Click on the year on the Left hand side
Scroll down to "Technical Inforamtion"
Look for VIN and it will give you a breakdown

My 68 had the Shelby number after the Ford Sequence

8T02R205281-03254

8=Year
T=Assembly Plany (NJ)
02=Fastback
R-428CJ
205281=Ford
03254-Shelby

Now, If you can find the break down to the cowl tag, then I would be a happy camper, since I still have that!
