Hello

My name is Jim Snover, and I'm new here. Somehow I went 46 years without any special regard for the Ford Mustang. They have been around almost as long as me, and I never noticed them. Now, nothing else will do.

I repair medical x-ray machines for a living; I live in Cypress, TX, just outside of Houston.

I write science fiction for a hobby, nothing published yet. I also study mechanical & electrical engineering for hobbies. I like to collect old engineering text books.

My current car is a Dodge Intrepid, but I hope to be trading it soon for a '96-'02 Mustang Cobra. I think the Ford 4.6DOHC engine is the best darn thing that ever came out of Michigan.

Or I was thinking of getting a V6 Mustang, and putting a 4.6DOHC in it. And leaving the V6 emblem on the car. I know it would faster and easier just to buy a Cobra, but I love tearing stuff up and the thought of swapping the engines just makes my hands start shaking with anticipation.

Welcome!

Hey Jim welcome to TMS Ditch the V6 purchase because it comes with a smaller rear end than a GT . Buy the GT and change the badging if you have to. When you get your ride post some pictures we would love to check it out. Good times!

Jed

Thanks for the welcome, Jed.

I have this idea of leaving the V6 badging intact. Just for laughs.

About the diff: I am also going to swap it with either a Cobra IRS or a MK VIII IRS, whichever I can get cheaper at the salvage yard.

Sounds good Jim I think you might like this picture...I took it at Mira Mar here in Cali. Are you in the Service or just a warbird freak like me?

That is a fantastic shot! I have never been in the service, just a war-bird freak and all-around aviation enthusiast.
