Greets from West Texas!

Hiya Y'all!

I've wanted a Mustang since I was in high school (many years ago) and I think my dream may finally come true. Turns out my daughter is about to need a car to drive to school and has laid claim to my 07 Saturn Vue. Goodbye Mom-Mobile and hello new mustang!

I'm off to test drive a 2012 V6 Premium this afternoon - and will hopefully soon be the proud owner of a Lava Red with the Pony Package.

I'm totally obsessing and hope it all goes as planned!

Any advice for a soon-to-be proud new owner on how to keep it shiny and beautiful forever?

If you can afford the GT, test them both out. That extra 100 HP and that V8 you will be blown away.

She seems quite content with the V-6.
Hope to see you posting that it's actually yours! I still haven't seen a Lava Red Stang yet.
Theres alot of stuff to keep it looking good. Living in Texas tint should be your first stop

Since I also live in West Texas, if you want to keep it beautiful never wipe off the dust without using a microfiber cloth and detailer. I do the full wipe down at least 3 times a week. Hope you got your dream car.

Yea, thats one of the first things I bought when I got down here. A big one to get it dry, and some smaller ones for detailing.

I love the car and it is a blast to drive... although down the road, once I can afford it, would like to swap put for the V8.

It'll be mine by friday!

And yes, I'm quite content with a V6 - its a driver, not a racer for me.. and over the saturn vue I'm leaving behind its plenty of power for me.

Besides the GT was out of my price range.

Tint - I've never had a car tinted before, any previous came already tinted - what sort of percent should I look into?

Oh yeah - I have a full set of microfiber coming, along with a pile of cool detailing products. Gonna be kept as close to showroom pristine as I possibly can!

Gonna be a serious fight with all of our blowing dirt I'm sure.

The new V6 has plenty of pep. My dealer arranged to have someone come in and do the tint on my car before I picked it up. They're delivered to the dealer without tint because the % allowed can vary by state. They tinted the rear window a lot darker than the GT I traded in to help reduce the heat in the back seat when my dogs ride back there.

Greetings from south Texas! And if for tint I would just go with 25%. It gets the job done and keeps the heat off ur back bout tint. And hey check out croftgateusa.com for badass detailing stuff! I'm gonna do a nice full detail this weekend an pics will come! Congrats on the car btw, lava red is a beautiful color!
