Greetings from Afghanistan!
Hello!
I have been browsing these forums for a few weeks now doing research on the Mustang that will be waiting for me when I get stateside. Sadly I do not believe I will be able to pull off a 5.0 for a while due to insurance, however, I am looking forward to replacing my Honda Accord with the 3.7. I am wanting to get a 2014 or 2013 rather than the 2015, from what I have seen I don't care for the looks of the 15 as much as the 10-14s. I am open for any information from current owners and any recommendation.

Since we really don't know what the '15 will look like (all images are speculation at this point) why would you rule it out? Whenever you come back there will be plenty of new Mustangs and slightly used, low mileage ones to consider. I would just use the time to decide exactly what I want and get it when you return. A plus to a used one might be that you could afford the GT's insurance.
I am basing all of my opinions off of the speculation images, I am a huge fan of the last few years. I will take another look when the time is closer but it is looking to be about sixty dollars more per month with the GT, which adds up in the long run. Even though I have a perfect driving record insurance for a V8 is still expensive for a single 21 year old male.
Still over 200 bucks a month for a GT sadly, even if I go with used it is over 200 bucks. I really need to turn 25 already and have that premium come down for me.
Man.. $200!? Wow... that is a lot. Literately, I am 23 and mine is $120ish... Have you factored in all the discounts and savings? Airbags and automatic driving lights and such? Granted I've been a member since I was 18... but I wouldn't think that'd play a role.
I'm betting the OP lives in one of New England states.
Brother, first of all, THANKS for serving.
Secondly - WAIT for the 5.0 - you don't want to pay on something less than you wanted for years and years. I've done that my whole life (until recent times!).

Also thanks for all the welcoming wishes.
I know exactly what you mean. I have wanted a mustang since I was a kid, bought the accord because payments were low and insurance was cheap, a year later ended up buying a crotch rocket because I was bored of driving my car. Good and fun until you almost kill yourself on multiple occasions. Ended up having to sell it as I could only store one vehicle. Hopefully I'll be getting my E-5 while over here and if so I think I can pull off the 5.0.
