Greetings from across the pond
Whilst I’m not new to the Mustang, I’m new to TMS so I thought I might as well drop in and say “Hello” – since it’s the social convention I reckon.
“Hello”
I bought my first Mustang at the end of 2009 and fulfilled a boyhood dream. I walked right into the local Ford dealership and asked the first person that spotted me to show me the Mustangs. Needless to say, they all looked at me funny and thought I’ve gone insane – that’s Europe for you – eventually the salesperson stuttered that I have to go to another dealership a couple miles away that specializes in the import of Mustangs.
So I went there and did exactly the same just to be taken in some backroom; the lights flickered to life bathing the whole area in a dim shade of (no not grey!)… yellow…ish and there she stood in all her beauty and majesty. I knew at that moment that I’ve got to have her.
That was roughly 3.5 years ago and I found myself, not too long ago, venturing into that dealership again. I sat down with my sales rep and motioned over to my car asking if he was interested in a trade.
You see, the price for gas is ever increasing and taxes for cars with big displacement numbers is likewise skyrocketing. So the only sensible thing in fact would be to sell the Mustang and buy a new Fiesta or a Focus even and that is exactly what I didn’t do.
Reason pretty much abandoned ship and emotion took the helm when I handed him a piece of paper with 5 letters on: “GT500”.
Two cups of coffee and several minutes later my order was in and now I’m sitting around waiting for my new Mustang to arrive.
Being no stranger to waiting and anticipating the sensation of firing up a car for the first time, having imported a Raptor two years ago, I consider this equally exciting as actually owning the vehicle.
I’m sure in the not too distant future you’ll have more members from Europe when the Mustang is officially launched here.
/d.

Finally the stars begin to align... my car is due to arrive at the US dealership end of October before it'll be packed up and shipped overseas. Looks like I'll be getting a neat present in December, nothing like 662 horses to put the magic back in X-Mas I reckon ![Big Grin](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
pics will follow... soon.... ish...
