Getting a 2000 Mustang - how can I defend myself?

I'm getting a cheap 2000 Mustang with pretty much everything stock except the tires and rims. My friends are bashing me for getting it, so how can I defend myself against the haters?!?!

I loved my 2000 mustang.

not the rims tho.. they came on the car

then I had a oops

its a great car with pretty good get up and go for what it is. The mpg is really good and you have lots of ways to mod the car.

How would I go about getting a v8 swap if I wanted to later?

Welcome to TMS, swaps can be very expensive. Get the 6er and be happy with it, trade it in on a GT someday down the road.

Keep it classy! Get a true cat back, that dumps after the axles! I always have thought the ugliest part of a v6 was the miserables exhaust tip.

Trust me, stick with the 6, you don't want to get involved with the v8 swap.

I had an ex girlfriend that wanted to do a V8 swap on a 95 vert. Was going to be impossibly difficult but of course she thought everything was so easy (she never did any of the work so of course she thought this). Thankfully she crashed the car before I lost massive amounts of my time attempting it lol.

Good luck with the car, lots of mods you can do.

I'm more curious as to WHY they're bashin'... that it's a V6, or that it's a Mustang, or that it's Lavender or such...? Might make it easier to prescribe somethin' to help.

They're bashing because they say it looks like crap, and drives like crap because it's a v6. My friend owns a Yukon XL with a V8 in it and says that SUV can destroy my 'stang.

Get yourself a cold air intake, and a nice cat back exhaust to start. Try bbk or steeda IMO. Americanmuscle.com is my favorite place to shop. Is it a manual or an auto?

Sounds like you need new friends. Either that or hit the gym and blast them in their lip if they get on your nerves.

If that's you holding the candy in your picture, then at your age I'd be thrilled w/ a Mustang. Do some mild mods to make it your own, take pride it keeping it clean, and to hell w/ the haters. Get a hot girlfriend in the passenger seat and it'll make the car look even better. Drive safe, seriously... you've got nothing to prove.

did your buddy pay for that poocon with his own cash? Did you pay for your own car? I want some candy . Having that 6 popper is a good way to save some cash. Don't waste any of it on mods. When they rip on you just say well your girlfriend liked it last night

I personally like the 2000 models. Did you post a picture of it? I like candy too! We are going to have to call you the candy man!
