Cam Covers install Ford Racing - Powder Coat Chrome

I finish my Cam Cover install last Tuesday night here's some final pictures and a walk through video.

In this picture I also installed a Red Top Optima battery. Do you know of a company that makes a billet top for the Red version of this battery?

No oil leaks I guess I did okay!

Hi Ed! yes very comforting! That video is a liittle longer than it should be I was trying to find the best video codec for use with Photobucket. That file started as an MOV > Flash > then whatever Photobucket did to it I'll post a nice sound later that I know you will like

New plates in

I got my new license plates in the mail I mounted the rear plate in a smoked license plate protector. California plates are so bright so I wanted to diffuse it a little below are a few shots:

What Rotors to get?

I've been considering upgrading my rotors. Below are two types I'm looking at, let me know what you guys think. First one from Rotor Pros this one has a painted design option.

This one's on a Vette but look at the color. I think this black looks good IMO. Since my car is black.

Here is a silver or plan rotor.

From a company called Power Slot, I like this model not sure if they make it for the Stang? It's larger and comes with a relo kit so you can use your original caliper.

Otherwise this model is available for the Mustang from Power Slot:

I'm not ready to spend 3 grand on a brake upgrade so better rotors and high performance pads are the way to go for now. I don't think I will paint my calipers because that "pitted" cast metal look to me looks a little rough. On top of that if you don't keep them spotles a painted caliper can look pretty nasty. I might consider it if those parts could be machined smooth, but is it worth it? After looking at these rotors mine are UGLY! Stock rotors get that rusty look fast, zinc or cadnium rotors looks like the way to go!

Power Slot:

This is interesting I just saw this on the web.

What KB configuraton did you decide on?

PSI boost?
Intercooled?
2.6L?

Just curious, are you installing it yourself?

Bill very tastefully modded Mustang. I like to see cars when the owner sticks with a specific theme and knows what he wants. Again a job well done.

Black Zinc Rotor install

Jonathan thank you for your compliment! It's fun modding the Mustang, I just keep running out of money

I decided on Black Zinc Rotors from Rotor Pros here's a final shot below. I'll post more of the installation on Monday night! I plan to replace all of the stock chrome lug nuts to Black Chrome lug nuts from Gorilla. Eventually the zinc area where the pad "beds" on the disc will turn polished. I choose zinc because black painted rotors didn't seen be as durable to me. Especially when liquid cleaners are introduced.

Hey I know that model! That's my Niece!

She told me she had a blast modeling with the Stangs... couldn't ask for better weather that day.

Next time we'll have to incorporate some video into the shoot.

Jed...

I have to ask...What color are those rims?? They look stunning...

And do you mind if I ask you what color stripes those are as well?

I want to ask you about nearly every part on your car but I don't want to detract from your social life...

Hi Dan ask away! The rims are "Black Chrome" from AFS. You can search for them on eBay. Stripes are metallic silver, they are painted not decals and they were on the car when I bought it.
