It's a funny story but I just bought myself a nice little pony car. (Assuming it ever arrives)
It's a 2014 (oops, I mean 2013, my brain doesn't work so well sometimes.) V6 Premium with the Pony package in Sterling Grey.
Now the funny bit is that I drive a 2005 Jeep TJ... not exactly the most practical car in the world. But it needs more lift, bigger tires better front axle etc... not a good daily driver.
So I set out on a path. I was going to buy me a practical car. A 2013 Ford Fusion to be exact. Good mileage, 4 doors, lot's of trunk... But those are a ways a way and a lot of $$ The 2012 is on sale. I drove one. nice car. But blow your brains out boring. What's next? A mini-van? If I'm going to drive a car that can't go through 36" of running water, has to have doors and would look funny with a winch I'm going to get me a car I WANT to drive!
So I went out and drove a Camry and a Corolla which were even LESS exciting than the Fusion withe the added hit of styling straight out of a Japanese photocopier. How about an Altima? Maybe... only the sales guy was like a Chihuahua that wouldn't stop humping my leg.
I drove a LOT of cars that fit my preconceived idea of what I wanted. Then on a whim I drove a Mustang. My dear ol' dad had one... a 76 Mach II 4 banger P.O.S. It was still fun. The new GT I drove was a friggin BLAST! But the mileage wasn't right. Finally I figured out that other than the girlfriend I never have passengers so why 4 doors? Boom! Time to look at fun cars!
Needless to say I bought a Mustang. (Otherwise the entire point of this post is quite lost.) Should land at the dealer sometime next week.
So that's me any my odd story.
Skippy
p.s. Also, I got beat up by a llama once. But that's not really relevant to the car story. Still... it's worth the tell one of these days...
