2011 GT - First Mustang - New Member

Hey guys,

I am a former 2005 Pontiac GTO owner, but recnetly traded that in for a 2011 Mustang GT. New Mustang is a Black, automatic, with the 18" Chrome factory wheels. So far I am enjoying the car! Similar power to my GTO and nice features. Looking to do some upgrades in the near future and figured this is a good place to start!

Will get some pictures up shortly, working on uploading from my phone

Hello

This forum has been a good source of information for me.

I like the nice black GT you picked up.

I just picked up a 2011GT about a month ago and here is some items to check:

1. Open up the front hood and check around the lip and unside edges for corrosion. Mine is going into Ford dealer Monday to have it "repaired". Let's hope that a class action starts on these models so we can have NEW Hoods.

2. Go over some speed bumps to see if you hear any clunking noise. Ford dealer replaced my lower control arm on driver side last week.

3. I have the famous engine clicking or ticking sound that comes and goes. At first dealer could not duplicate until I was ready to pull out of their facility. It was there again and had the service adviser and mechanic confirm. The car is going back in for the TSB for the water pump and some other parts to be replaced. They think this is what the noise is all about. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Thank God this car still had warranty, or the bills would have been crazy $$$.

I have not had a Ford product for at least 20 years and this certainly has me concerned. If I keep this car, I will be forced to buy the extended warranty for whatever else is going to fail.

Good luck with the new car. Love the ride and performance and hate the problems I have been having. Seems like every time I read a post about a problem this car has it.
