Hello everyone! My name is Lisa, I live in South Texas, very close to the beach! I have a 2010 mustang V6 and just my luck when I paid it off the place said they don’t have a spare key 😡. I’ve had to tape the key I have to keep the chip from falling out! My son ordered me a plain key which from reading it will only lock/unlock the car. This might be a ridiculous question but could I take the chip out of old key and put into the new key?
I will Tell you That Back in the Day Some Dealers Would Put a Hokey Anti Theft Device in Some Cars That Defeated the Factory Pats Setup and Then They Took the Chip or Key and Glued it inside The Steering Column Flange Close to Tranceiver and at that Point a Regular Key Could Be Used. Not The Best Way to Go But an FYI! It Was Done on The Earlier Spade Type Keys of About 5 Years Prior.
