2007 Shelby GT Low Miles!

My name is Ron LeBlanc and I’ve been married (to the same woman) for 38 years and we have 3 grandchildren. I live in Massachusetts and upon the NH border. I’m retired from 2 careers. I retired from the Army after 40 years of service. I also retired from a local police department after 29 years of service. My hobbies are going to car shows, shooting Skeet and Trap, and following the Boston Bruins and the Boston Red Sox.
Hello all SHELBY Fans and I look forward to corresponding with member of this group

I drive a Black 2007 Shelby GT which has less than 3 thousand miles on the clock. Prior to this Shelby, I’ve owned another 2007 Shelby that was white and a Black Mustang Cobra. I’ve owned several muscle cars in between the mustangs but I keep coming back to the Mustangs.

I’m thinking of Super Charging my current Shelby GT and I’d like some guidance as to what SC to buy and where to have the work done near me (01844) or where to send it. Any guidance would be very much appreciated.

Thank you and it’s my pleasure to be associated with this group.

Ron LeBlanc

Great car, and amazing condition and miles. I had a Vista blue 08 that I loved, fantastic car. I was on the verge of what you're wanting to do. I'll have to post back later what I was thinking about doing.

I don't Think Roush Offers The Supercharger For the 05-09s Anymore But You Can get a Feel For What I experienced in this Old Topic.

Looks Like Shelby Still Sells Superchargers For the Older Cars! Seems To Me They Have a Network of Shelby Authorized Installers! At Least They Did Back in the Day! Might Want to Contact Them! Keep Your Shelby in the Family!

Be Sure To Check if Your State Allows The Supercharger Install and It Does Not Cause Failure to Comply with Emission Laws in Your State!

I bought my 08 new and by 2010 I wanted more. But to build on what KC said above, I wanted to keep it true Shelby. I wanted to do the legit Shelby GT/SC conversion with it in the registry and updated tag under the hood. This was in 2010 when I started researching and the only way to do that was going to Shelby Vegas shop, a shop in Texas which I can't remember the name of, or Tasca Ford in your back yard, they were the only authorized Shelby mod centers. At that' time they were using the 2.3 frpp Whipple blower, and I wanted the big brakes, Shelby razor wheels that matched the stripes and have the rocker panel stripe changed to the Shelby GT/SC script. I was planning on Tasca, but after I saw what it was going to cost I decided to just get rid of it and buy a new 2011 gt500 because I didn't think at that time the money would ever be there down the road on the Shelby GT cars, but they seem to be coming back pretty strong.

Keep us updated and ask any questions you have, I did a lot of research back then on different approaches, and KC above knows a ton about these cars.

Not to derail your thread, but I've got that same sticker from my 08, forgot that the gas guzzler tax was $1000 on it.

The govt clipped me for $2300 on the last one I got. Thieves, I use less gas in it than any Honda in America, 😂

Thank You for this information Kevin! During my limited search, I found the Kenne Bell makes a kit for my car. I was just curious as to what other 07 Shelby GT owners have done? I’m really going to enjoy this forum if and when I learn how to navigate this site.

Thanks for sharing your story and welcome aboard... Although manufacturers like Edlebrock, Whipple and Roush no longer produce PD superchargers for the older 2005-10 cars, vendors such as Brenspeed, Department Of Boost, The Shelby Store and Kenne Bell continue to sell them... If interested? I've attached their website links below... Also, thanks for sharing an image of your 2007 Shelby GT, as she's absolutely stunning

Exactly, those are my thoughts exactly Kevin 05stang Casey! I want to add more power but do so in compliance with
Shelby. The mods that you were thinking of are the same as I’d like to do to mine. Thanks for the info and I’ll be calling TASCA tomorrow and Shelby on Monday. I’ll let you and the other members know how I made out in a follow-on post. Thanks again!

Yeah, I came real close to taking mine to Tasca like I mentioned above, wanted the blower, big brakes, razor wheels and the stripe changed to GT/SC, also the gauge pod on the dash. But back then in 2010 it just didn't make money sense for me because what I could sell it for plus the cost of what I wanted I could buy a new gt500 with all the stuff I wanted and the first year of the aluminum block.

I still love that SGT though. Can't believe Edelbrock doesn't make the e-force for those anymore. It made the least power of the blowers back then, but it was by far the best looking kit, heck it would look factory if not for the Edelbrock on it. I was seriously thinking of going to Brenspeed and getting it because I think the strut tower brace would clear it, but won't the others without changing the k member and lowering the motor IIRC.
