I'm an older car guy. I've mostly messed with MGBs and TR6s over the years, but also have had my share of Mustangs:
1966 289 4 speed project which I sold not completed - the one that got away
1995 GT Convertible
1989 LX Convertible
1988 GT Hatchback - donor for FFR Cobra
2012 V6 Convertible
And that brings me to my 2006 GT Convertible, which I bought last February in Tampa. It's bone stock (and will stay that way), and has only 65,000 miles. I kind of think of it as a 69 resto-mod, if you know what I mean. It's like how you feel when you wear a nice suit - makes you look good! So, in my head, it makes me feel good, like I have a muscle car without spending $50-100K.
I got it for less than $10K, and checks all the boxes. Plus I'm not too concerned that I'll have to call AAA. I drove it across FL to the Palm Beach area (and back) last weekend - ROAD-TRIP! No Problems!
This afternoon I'm going to a street cruise in Englewood FL. It's kind of bring what you got - antique, hot rod, muscle, Corvettes, hearses, cycles, pick-ups, you-name-it!
I'm not too concerned that I'll be rejected for bringing a new car, but I won't be parking front and center, if you know what I mean.
I said above that it will remain stock, but I have to go back on that. I purchased a Pioneer radio with a big screen that mimics my phone for navigation, Pandora, etc. I also included a back-up camera. I have not installed it yet.
I look forward to reading posts pertaining to my ride, and possibly contributing.
(I included a pic of my first car, which happened to be a 67 Camaro RS 4-speed convertible - pic from 1972)
Also, my GT came with the door dent, and I got it repaired a couple months ago.
Thanks for having me!
