1965 Mustang in the UK

Hello all,

I am new to the Mustang world, I have always loved them and admired them but I never thought I would get to drive one. At the end of last year my Father-In-Law (who has several classic cars) was at a car auction and sent me a photo of the a Mustang that was up for sale, my only response was from him to bring that home.

Over the past year I have been joking that when we go to the car shows through out the year I never have a car to drive and end up going in Subaru forrester whilst he drivers an E-type Jag, the Mother-In-Law drives a Corvette C1 and my wife take the Jaguar XK120.

Anway my Father-In-Law listen and won the auction and came home and put me on the insurance.

So here it is.

A photo of my son at the first car show of the year.

I am sure you all know but its a 1965 289 GT A-Code Mustang 3spd Auto in Wimbledon White with painted Red Shelby stripes. Previous owner had massive refurbishment done to vehicle mechanically and cosmetically inside and out, the underside looks just as tidy too.

I am currently researching this car to find out its history as it came with large portfolio folder on the vehicle. I believe I have managed to find the owner who refurbed the Mustang but sadly he has passed away.

Just out of interest does the name Hal Carlson mean anything to anyone as the Mustang was owned by him in the State and in 1980's and he did a refurb on it then and the thing that interested me is I have found some drag forums with refference to a Hal Carlson and working out if they are the one and same person. http://www.performance-shop.com/show...t=48755&page=3

I am thinking of contacting his brother to see if he can help with the history of the car.

I am also looking to learn more about he history of mustangs and hopefully meet other mustang owners to learn from them.

Anyway I look forward to finding out more about this car.

Cheers
Tim
