Im just curious has anyone out there converted a 05-09 mustang gt from an automatic to manual transmission? If so what all did you need to do so and about how much did it cost?

Rather than submit a new thread, just out of curiosity, has anyone converted their 05-09 Mustang from 5spd manual to automatic... My reason for consideration is due to knee related issues...

A little late to respond but welcome to the club that thought about this as well. The cost is prohibitive from what I learned. It really was painful (both my knee and mentally) to say bye to my '07 GT/CS. I still miss it but my 'new' 2014 'automatic' GT is quite an upgrade and I'm missing my old one less and less each passing day. It's tough when you have had a car since 'new' but life (and knees) happens.
I've posted this photo before but I really like it. Saying bye to the '07 and hello to the '14 at a dealership in Wisconsin.

I also heard the same regarding the cost for the manual to auto conversion as prohibitive.. Therefore, I totally agree it would cost far less to just sell the manual and purchase an 11-14 Coyote 5.0 with an auto as you did
Going either direction is not for those with a light wallet. Can rack-up a lot of surprises and will cost you. I too feel it is better for find a suitable replacement for the car you love but hate.
