Curious why you say that. The 4.6 3V is the same firing order as the 351 Cleveland and Windsor: 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8. The pulses (when facing the exhaust pipes at the rear) are: RRLRLLRL.

And yes, the 5.0 Coyote is a different firing order: 1-5-4-8-6-3-7-2. The pulses (when facing the exhaust pipes at the rear) are: RLRLLRLR.

However, once the engine is running, you still have the same R/L pulses. #1 becomes irrelevant once the crank is turning. Notice the 5.0 Coyote's pulses when beginning with #8: RRL-RLL-RL.

Same as the 4.6 in terms of exhaust notes coming from each bank.

So why wouldn't the sound - esp w/cam - be the same??

I can't tell you exactly why, but the firing order was the answer I got in 2010 when the 5.0 first started hitting the streets. Listen to videos of them...the rear mounted mufflers has a little to do with it, but to me, the 4.6 4v from the Cobras and Mach 1s is the best sounding engine Ford has ever made, pretty much regardless of exhaust setup. The 5.4/5.8 would be a close second, old 5.0 2v, then 4.6 3v...for me. The new 5.0 sounds good, but different. I can tolerate it, and respect it for the power it makes, but I'd rather listen to an older 4v any day.

Still would take the 5.0! You get 21 extra cubic inches to play with over the 4.6 motor and less back talk because there is no woman around to attempt to stop me! So 5.0, thumbs up, 4.6 and women problems get the thumb down!

She can't see out of the Camaro so she's contemplating a Chally?

Lol .... they're possibly worse to see out of, if not the same.

I've never been in a Camaro, I can't get past the horrible interior enough to actually contort myself inside one, but I've sat in Chally's and seeing out of them is no treat.

All 3 are good choices. The Camaro is either like it or hate the styling. Mustang is plain compared to the 3. Nobody can knock how attractive the challenger is although last on performance.

I could've bought either one.
I ended up with the best "compromise" of power, comfort, affordability, mod-ability, and safety, not necessarily in any order.

My GF's ex-husband had a Chally SRT8 6-speed and they hated how hard it was to see out of it.
Being on Dodge websites, I've seen Chally owners complain about their car's winter-driving, some calling the car the worst one they'd ever driven in the snow, even with snow tires and stability control.
Never mind that you can't really mod them since the engine pistons are fragile, the connecting rods are fragile, the valve springs are weak, and parts are super-expensive.
Mustang/Camaro guys have it made when it comes to modding their cars ... parts are aplenty and affordable.

I actually kinda like the Camaro's exterior styling, I just HATE the interior design.

Alright here's another: Would you rather be forced to dress Metro or wear Jay Leno denim suits everyday?

There's a dealership here that always has at least 4-6 of them...don't know where they get them all...they're the only dealership that has them consistently...but they're usually touching themselves on the pricing...
