I'm getting out of my dad's house in the near future, and I've been thinking of long beach California, Miami Florida, myrtle beach or surf side sc, (already have a place there) does anyone have any input/suggestions?

If you aren't already loving in California, the cost of everything here seems to be higher. The air quality in Southern California is crap. The traffic can be a nightmare. Long beach is a cool town. A lot of great places to eat and have adult beverages. The weather is pretty much always good and it's a drivers culture. A lot of car clubs and places to race.

Myrtle beach is a tourist hell hole for 8 months a year.

Personally, I'd move to wherever I could get a job.

And agreed. Finding a decent job these days is a big *****, so moving before finding a job would be risky.

Long Beach, California unemployement rate = 11.2%
Miami, Florida unemployment rate = 9.3%
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina unemployment rate = 6.9%
Surfside Beach, South Carolina unemployment rate = 14.1%

Austin, Texas unemployment rate = 4.8%

And then there is this...

$250k home in Austin....

And while you won't have a beach nearby, you can always enjoy a good Texas boart party on Lake Travis.
