Yeah, everyone hears "Mardi Gras" and thinks NOLA, but its not the home of it, it all started in Mobile around 1700, and they celebrate the true spirit of it. My little nephews down there have been out of school for it, they take that **** seriously. Hell, they start around Thanksgiving down there, stuff on new years, parades and **** through Jan. and build all the way up to Ash Wednesday. They don't **** around. Its a hell of a season down there.

Yeah, you don't take anyone under age to NOLA's Mardi Gras. That will age them in ways you don't want.

It's amazing how many people you see out there with young children though. Tourists show up thinking everybody is just having a good time and it's a safe place to cut loose. Every year some young girl disappears never to be seen alive again.

Yeah. The downtown parades are little more than dressed-up orgies and thieves taking every innocent, dumb, blind or drunk tourist for all they have. It was pretty shocking to me the first time I went, and it was mid afternoon--20 years ago. I'm sure it's gotten no better and has likely gotten worse.

Just saw a shelby daytona and shelby 427 cobra (probably kit cars but sounded and looked autentic enough) driving by ny neighborhood. Needless to say i came home to change pants
