Me too...said I was recruiting people away from the MFer site, which I wasn't; I mentioned in a PM to a fellow enthusiast that there was a new S197-specific forum in existence. The PM was read (so I guess it wasn't um, "private"), and I was banned.
They said if I made a full apology and kissed *** I could be allowed back..

It was actually a decent site at one time. I now go there occasionally but am always on my favorite site....S197 Forum! BTW, I love this forum too!!!!

this seems a little odd..
can anyone of you having problems reaching MF do the following please:
open up Command Prompt (from Start Menu -> Run -> cmd, or Start Menu -> Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt )
once the prompt is up (black window), type the following
ping www.modularfords.com

you should see something along the lines of the following:

C:\Users\Louie>ping www.modularfords.com

Pinging www.modularfords.com [64.239.127.10] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 64.239.127.10: bytes=32 time=291ms TTL=42

don't bother pasting the whole thing.. just the IP address ( xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ) that appears.
as you see in my case, it's 64.239.127.10
i'm willing to bet there's some sort of spyware (toolbar)/virus doing DNS poisoning, or simply a networking problem somewhere.

oh.. and mention your ISP along with your results

I got an email from the mod fords forums the other night......asking where I have been and to come back......

too much self serving over there......sort of hard to keep the supporting venders in check if you are taking freebies from them....

A little bit of that is ok, but it got to be too much.

July 1 and July 31st I got the "We miss you" emails... someday I will have to get over there for a look .... I just have not had enough free time. I've wondered how they survived the mass exodus.

 

I tried to go to www.modularfords.com and again it showed that weird portal site - I posted the picture already.

When I ping www.modularfords.com, I see an IP of 8.15.231.100. The admin of the site did say they were in the process of switching DNS servers so that might explain it.

 

guess that's it then..
that IP belongs to enom.com, one rather large Domain registrar/hosting provider..

 

Wonder why I didn't get one of those e-mails?? lol

I can go to modfords right now. And I haven't been banned. AND I am a member of s197 too! I am the golden boy!!

modfords shows a IP address of 64.239.127.10 according to ping results, my ISP is Comcast.

Interesting story is I heard that the girl quit her job to run the site full time, they bought a brand new Shelby GT500 and then slapped up a donation link and started crying for money. Sounds like bad management and a bit of greediness bit them in the butt. Otherwise I have no opinion good or bad regarding their site.
