OK, so we've been discussing who to play Bullitt in the remake, but what about McQ? The renegade Seattle detective with the Trans Am played by John Wayne in '73 (methinks)?

Who would be the best actor to reprise that role? And what should he drive, since Pontiac no longer has Firebirds, let alone Trans Ams?

i think Nicholas Cage made a dent when he did Gone In 60 Seconds...I think he'd be perfect for the part.

I'm thinking someone a bit older, like maybe Harrison Ford or Mel Gibson?

Duke was in his 60s when he made the movie.

Not at all. I saw it when it first came out. I just don't have any great ideas for casting. Sean Connery is getting a little long in the tooth and Pierce Brosnan is too smooth, although I really like him. I'm just stumped for suggestions.

I remember McQ!...(I think they were thinking of Steve when they named this film)...lol For some reason I'm thinking of George Clooney for this role.

Ok.. this is a movie I have to watch...

Intersting stuff... Dirty Harry was originally supposed to be set in Seattle and offered to McQueen. When Eastwood took the movie he insisted it be set in San Fransisico

I remeber it too. Not one of the Dukes better movies. He was way too old for the part at the time. How this for casting: The new Camaro and Arnold Schwartzeneger
