Went shooting with my buddies

mine is a .44
the ***** will be a little large, no patches needed, as you force the ball into the cylinder it shaves off a nice little ring of lead and forms a tight seal.
so: powder- then ball- then grease
put some caps on and have a blast!
best way to clean afterwards:
completely dissasemble and drop all of it into a very hot sink full of dish soap and water!
yup, soap and water. scrub with a tooth brush and all the old nasty powder residue will come right off.
get some good gun lube and lube her up afterwards and your good to go!
i do mine like that every time and it works out great!
oh also: buy the most expensive nipple wrench you can find. a cheap one will only bend out of shape. they make them especially for older pistols like ours and they work good. do the research and find one just for pistols, trust me you wont regret it.

I've had an Ithaca M37 Featherlight for about 20 years. What a great shotgun. I think I like it better than the Benelli M3 Super 90 that I also have though the M3 is novel in it's pump action / semi-auto mode selector.

Glad to hear that I didn't buy a POS lol. Can't wait to give this honey a try out at the range.
I need to find out which local ranges allow black powder (some I know only let you during certain hours on certain days) before I get into firing mine. I can't wait to though :P

I wish. I don't even know anyone with a black powder firearm. One of my friends only has a .22 revolver in his arsenal, and the other has a dad who started stocking up on firearms after he saw what happened at tiananmen square (no joke!)
Out of the three of us that go shootingm, I'm the only one to buy anything so far lol

I went back to the range today, with my old (and a new) blackpowder guns, but unforunately, they are only allowed during member hours.. for members lol
I just went out today and bought some black powder, percussion caps, lead ball, bore butter and a measuring tool too. The new one is an 1858 Army with a solid frame around the cylinder. I plan on converting that one to .45 Long Colt :P
spent most of the day trap shooting, a little time at the rifle/pistol range shooting the .22 revolver and the M44. pics will come later, my friend took them all

My 2nd hobby.....I've got a chinese SKS, Century Arms 1911 .45, Smith & Wesson 9mm, Walther P22 w/ laser, Modded Glock 19 with night sights & a Ruger 10-22 rifle. Lots of friends with guns and a few of us belong to a local outdoor range where we shoot....I need to do it more often!

Well,
Now this thread has a lots of "interesting" comments.
Both myself and the wife are into shooting irons.
She carries a Kimber Custom .45 or a H&K P7-M8, I carry a S&W Custom shop .357 or a Taurus Titnium 46437 DA .38 Custom.
She was a State Champ a couple of years ago, never got the #1 spot, I would not get off my Butt and take her to the matches for the extra points.
She had a write up on her years ago, when she shot for Wilson's Team.
We both enjoy popping rounds, and have numerous toys to do so with.
Ever seen a Barrett .50 rifle?

I think there are a few members that owe some pics :P
Speaking of that, I will have more than a few this coming weekend. I'm taking two friends that have never gone shooting before as well of those gal's bfs, who has shot before.
The M44 will make an appearance, with new bitties, as will my coach gun and a New'n
