Visiting Vegas
Is ther anything fun to do in and around Vegas BESIDES gamble and going to shows? I want to go to Imperial Palace, if I remember correctly they have an auto museum.

The Shelby factory and Cafe are up at the Racetrack.
Valley of Fire is cool, if you like the outdoors and the beauty of natural rock formations. It's closer than the Canyon. There's an exit off of I-15 to get to it, and if you want to take a different route back to town, go out the other side and take Northshore Rd. to the right, back down to Lake Las Vegas and Lake Meade. Road is a little rough at first, but gets much better as you head south.
Another outdoor area is Mt. Charleston, north west of town out Hwy 95. No snow for skiing as of 2 weeks ago when I was there, but it can get a little chilly, if you're in a 'vert. There are two roads going up to the mountain, Kyle Canyon, and Lee Canyon. The second, Lee Canyon, is my prefered route, and where the Snow Park is. There is also a great road that connects the two and goes up over 8000' elevation. All new pavement on that road, it's great on a motorcycle, if a bit cold.
The Hoover Dam has tours daily also, and a nice visitors center.
There is a newer shopping center on the South Strip, past Mandalay Bay, called Town Square. It's directly across the street from the Callaway Golf Center.
Other than those, I guess it depends on what you would want to do. Most of the entertainment is focused on the strip/casinos.

We hit Vegas 3 or 4 times a year, Head to freemont street and watch the overhead light show, Free coupons at the security office above the walgreens. get 2 for 1 buffets. Cheap and fun. Fountains at the Belligio, and see the Ventian gondolas. Night time at the Paris is cool, go up in the Eiffel Tower. Lots to see if your into walking!
