UPDATED: MustangTuning.com resolves issue

Please see post #27

I just WASTED $700 on wrong size tires and another $25.00 on Bullit lug nuts that DO NOT FIT!!

When I called them they talked over top of me speaking and would do nothing about it!

didn't you have the right tire size and lug nuts when you ordered
list the tire size and I'm sure someone will give you close to what you paid ..also lug nuts

I've used them twice now with no problems at all! Not sure what happened on your deal though.

No offense here, but it sounds like YOU ordered the wrong stuff and are blaming THEM for it?
Give us a few more details so we don't jump to conclusions.

human error maybe, but theirs- not mine ('cept that I was dumbe enuf to send 'em my money)

The lug nuts are mismatched, some stamped 1/2-20 that fit and others stamped 12x1.5 that don't, and all I asked for was for them to send me the replacements for the bad ones. They told me it wasn't their fault and I would have to pay shipping!!

The tires are their recommendation for the 18" deep dish rims, but they are 35 series, which it turns out make them significantly smaller in diameter than oem.

Consequently they look like skinny rubber bands stuck in a big empty wheel well, and my car is lowered even. In fact I just had a Mustang guy walk up to me in the grocery store parking lot not 15 minutes ago and say "your car looks clean, man... but you need some bigger tires on those back wheels to fill up the well..."

What really got me was the total lack of apology or concern at all from MT, and the guy kept talking overtop of me before I'd even finished speaking. I was a little annoyed when I called them, but not pissed off. By the time I got off the phone I was spitting bullit lug nuts!!

So I'm just relaying my experience and giving my recommendation- the MustangTuning.com I just did business with is trouble.

Maybe you need to talk to somebody different. There's always a bad apple. As unprofessional as it is, maybe he was having a bad day too??

I got my chin spoiler from them, no problems, but then I didn't try to return it. Maybe that would be a differnt story. How many people here have tried to return and not just bought from?

A few months ago I ordered a CAI, chin spoiler, and a couple other items from them, but when the order arrived, I was missing the CAI. I called them and told them the problem, and the guy on the phone was very apologetic and told me he would send out the intake the next day. He was courteous and didnt accuse me of trying to get a free intake or anything like that. Ive ordered from them quite a few times, and never had any problems. Like Sonic said, you may have just gotten the wrong guy at the wrong time, although that doesnt make it right. I also met the owners at Carlisle, and they were real nice people. Good luck getting the right tires.

I was very happy with the FRPP Gears I orders from them.
I have been looking for wheels and tire combo for a while and I use a online tire calculator to see what the difference in diameter is.
If you lowered your car Im sure it would look better

So you are driving around town on the tires, and complaining that they won't take them back?

The lugs sound like a mistake, but the tires are probably a smart recommendation. Your car is lowered, so they can't be sure exactly how much clearance you have. To be safe, give the customer a low profile tire, so it definitely won't rub.

Did you ask to return the tires before, or after you mounted them? It matters.

What he said....I have used them quite a bit and have never had an issue. I have also had a return situation and they handled it top notch all the way.

To be clear- I did not at all ask to return the tires.

If everyone else is pleased with them then just take my experience as a fluke and go about normal business... but personally I got faulty parts (the lug nuts) and tires that I would not hesitate to say are a poor recommendation from a Mustang specialist, topped off with a good dose of 'too bad for you buddy, we don't really care'.

True- if they hadn't taken me around the barn on $25 worth of lug nuts its not likely that I would've said much about the tires at all, just had them changed out and call it a day. Its a $30k car with at least another $5k worth of accessories, so a $700 mistake is not that big in the scheme of things, it's not my first mistake, and I won't be going hungry buying more tires.. however, since what happened did happen, is a 35 series tire really the choice for the Mustang, especially the rear?

Now I know that it is 1.3" smaller in diameter than oem, and lets face it- homeless people could live in the wheel well of a 05-06 Mustang, its not pinched for space is it?

Had I taken the recommendation of say 'HyundaiTuning.com' and they looked silly on the car, I would agree that that's what I get for trusting them- but this is a Mustang specialist online retailer, is it not? Is it really the consensus that that a 35 series tire is the tire of choice on 18" rims, espescially the rear??

Apart from that, I have no reason to call them again at all. They have my order number and contact information, and if someone contacts me to make amends I'll let you know. As is, I'm just some guy that lives somewhere else that called in unhappy with the stuff I got, and too bad for me. Maybe they will see this and improve things, so the next person in my shoes won't end up with steam coming out his ears

Maybe I got their best guy on his worst day. Maybe his wife just left him and took the 'stang for spite. But he certainly didn't say so- no matter how much steam might accumulate, if someone said to me "I've had the worst f'ing day you don't even want to know" I'd forget all about some bum lug nuts. Point is, I don't think that's the case.

BTW the Mustang isn't my daily driver, it's been in the driveway all week, and I didn't ever ask them to take the tires back, I asked for replacement lug nuts and said I was disappointed with the tires..... this is about my change in opinion of them between when I called with an issue and when I got off the phone with zero resolution and no confidence in their desire to make anything right.

I understand where you are coming from. I would demand new lug nuts. The tire situation is probably a lesson well learned. I have found out so much info from this site that I am going to make pretty much every purchase based on these recommendations. Put your tires up for sale now on this site and ebay and take a little loss rather than weaRING OUT THE TIRES EVEN MORE AND TAKING A BIGGER LOSS.
I would also like to take this time to let everyone know of my first internet purchase mishap(sorry for hijacking).I purchased 4 chrome 18" rims bullits from Partshopper.com. All 4 rims showed up unharmed, however they did not come with the 4 COBRA center caps that were advertised. They came with 4 cheapo BUICK looking red white and blue striped ones. I called the place they came from(NOT Partshopper) and they told me that FORD threatened to sue if they did not quit selling the cobra ones. They said sorry, not our problem. I called PARTSHOPPER and they said basically same thing. I *****ed about how they falsed advertised etc. and that they should make customer happy with a coupon or something. They end up sending me a coupon for a whopping 5% off next purchase. They also changed their website because of me!(no more Cobra center cap) Small victory but lesson well learned!!

Best quote describing S197 factory wheel wells ever. I almost fell out of my chair laughing so hard.

Had to kick a homeless guy out of mine the other week.
