UH-OH!
Well, my wife had been complaining for about the past week about not feeling well in the mornings. So she went to the doctor and he said she was fine and it was probably just a bit of a cold that had been going around.
Fast forward to this Sunday. She's still getting nauses in the morning and she's been about a week and a half late for the special time of the month. So she asks me if we can go get a home pregnancy test. Of course we did right away.
Now bear in mind that we had been trying for about a year when we first got engaged but no luck so we decided to wait until later in life because frankly I didn't think I was ready yet.
I had better get ready fast though because she took that test and low and behold SHE'S GOT A BUN IN THE OVEN!!!!
She talked to her special doctor and he said there's no doubt about it. She's probably about 5 weeks along!
I'll admit I'm freaked out! Sure I'm happy, I guess. I just wasn't really expecting this so suddenly.

Then Andy could be doing the new George Foreman commercials.

I like other peoples babies- when they go to making a fuss I can give em back.
In any case- like I said before, having them young is the best thing- just think- by age 40 you will be freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee......
And babies don't know you aren't as well off as you wanted to be- they just know you love em.
I have friends who STILL don't have kids- because they want a million dollars before- so they are going to be old grannies with teenagers in the house.

Congrats man!!!
Funny how it happens, we were the same, trying for a year, then decided to wait for a bit and then, right on cue, along came Leo!
(Sounds like your kid will have a very similar birthday to Leo!)

Thanks everyone!
James, from what they think, it will be born somewhere around late sept.
I actually hadn't really thought of any names yet at all. I'm still in shock. It just hasn't sunk in yet completely.
There's a lot to do in the remaining 8 months. Laurie and I have to do settlement on the house we're hopefully buying.
And no George, I pray to God its just one healthy baby. No multiple daiper wetters.

That is awesome Andy! When my son was born, it was the most amazing day of my life. Just seeing that little boy that we created -- wow. You'll never feel anything like the love for your child. I was only ready because (1) we had planned it, and (2) I was 37 already (not quite gramps with teenagers, but close).

Ahh, yes! "Life is like a box of chocolates... you never know what you are going to get".

CONGRATS!!
My wife and I got pregnant 30 days after we got engaged. We're at T-Minus 10 weeks. And trust me... you'll be wigged out for a couple weeks but soon the joy will overtake you. It's great. I'm sure a lot of TMS parents can agree.
Again congrats and best of luck.

Congrats again!
TBH, the whole thing wasn't a big deal to me until the day she was born. 'Course, the wife was pumped the whole time. It just wasn't "real" until the delivery.
Its a whole lotta fun though!
