U.S. gas prices
#1
So I leave for work this morning. Gas was $2.60 something. Come home, same gas station was at $3.09. Reading CNN, they expect gas to peak at over $4 a GALLON in the US.
:bang:
If prices don't go back down, it will possibably sway me from buying a Mustang. I can't afford a gas guzzler when gas prices are out of hand. The Civic Hybrid sure is looking nice right now...
:bang:
But, for now, I'll just be glad I have a V6 'Stang.

Well I did not buy my V8 GT to be good on gas, I bought it because I love it, period. it costs me $50 a week for fuel in my car, granted I could ride my bike, or < gasp > walk, but I choose to drive....... Tim
P.S. yes the price of gas is alot, but if I wanted a high MPG car, I would not have looked at the Mustang

The gas prices topic is a definite topic... prices are higher than ever, they're still going up, and yes, it sucks... yada yada yada.
I do agree though... I doubt many people buy a Mustang for the terrific gas mileage. My 18/23 average isn't shabby at all though. It's sure a lot better than full-size trucks.
Whenever I'm up in Canada (about 30 minutes away), and see their gas prices, it reminds me that even with our ridiculously high gas prices, we're still nowhere near the top of that list.

Gas prices will start coming down within the next month (hopefully). They generally come down after the driving season is over (summer). Which usually is around Labor Day. Hurricane Katrina isn't helping but if gas prices don't come down it will cripple our economy. Diesel fuel especially needs to come down or everything else will raise in price, not only gas. Hopefully our government can do something about these rising prices before they get out of control.
I got the mustang for its fuel economy. The truck I drive now gets me 8 MPG and the V6 Mustang will definitely get me more than that.
If gas gets too high, there's always public transportation and enjoy the car on the weekend.

It definitely stinks! It was $2.49 here a couple days ago and now $2.74! and suppose to go higher before the weekend. Atlanta is at $3.50. Bad thing is I heard on the news that alot of the oil for TN comes from the MS pipeline... which is not functioning from Katrina. I've notice many stations around here today have signs "out of gas." THAT IS SCARY!!! :bang:

yeah, but then you consider countries that export their oil, and see how they're all laughin' at us.... Venezuela only pays 16 cents a gallon. .... that's right.... 16 cents.

This is insanity.
Gas is going up here by the minute.
I for one had no gas, and was going to wait- I waited 3 hours and it cost me an extra .30 a gallon.
Not to mention the Walmart gas stations are much cheaper- and the lines are freaking outrageous to get gas there...
Help us all.

i've been living in Dubai for the past 6 years, and gas prices have been on the rise lately even in here.

Yeah, I flipped to the 87 octane tune to get through the summer (too hot here, getting detonation unless I blend 105 octane at $5.49 a gallon). I guess the 87 octane tune may last a bit longer.
I just sent an email to my boss asking for him to work with us on a carpool / telecommuting policy for at least the near term. At $4 a gallon, an employer has a responsibility to help out their employees with respect to lessening the impact of these price increases.
Hmmm, maybe I'll start an email chain letter asking for everyone to boycott buying gas for a 24 hour period. Since that has NEVER been done before, I'm sure it will take the country by storm!
