I think I'm going to get an IPOD and not sure whether to get the nano or the regular ipod and what size.

Any opinions?

Video or No is the important question. My wife has the 40G Ipod, my daughter has the IPod mini.

If I were looking now, I'd probably go Nano, as I'm not sure I'd need the video on the go (but I might be swayed ).

Having trouble deciding whether I would use the video or not. I'm inclined to say no but I bet f I had the ability I'd end up using it.

That's kind of my rational as well. I guess it depends on cost, if you want to pay that extra few hundred for one.

The Nano's look pretty cool, and are amazingly thin. The Video iPod is obviously "bigger" (thought still not "big").

I bought a Sony Bean for my wife and she loves it. It is 1Gig (about 700 songs) and it has an AM/FM radio so she can listen to the morning radio jocks Bob & Brian out of Milwaukee. Easily adapts to the car for those long distant trips. Just my $0.02.

Get the video. If you are even remotely considering it, you'll love the feature once you get it.

PM if you do and I'll send you a program and site that converts any video files you may have to iPod format and allows you to copy dvds to iPod format also.

Its great for me to have Peter, Lois, Meg, Chris, Brian, and Stewie come along wherever I go incase I get bored

"The Nano is like an Ipod for girls"

I assure you that I'm no girl, and I love my nano. I can run and work out with it without having to worry about a hard drive.

I've got the Gen IV 20G (non-video) and I love it. Best electronic purchase I ever made. I have over 3,300 songs in it, and still have room for about 2,000 more. I also have the DLO Transpod for my car. Even though its an FM modulated unit, the sound is fantastic, no static. I'd say get the standard size IPod, as the Nano is so small, I've heard on the net, that some people who are forgetting to take it out of their pockets before they do the wash. . Needless to say, by by Nano. Get the regular one, you'll love it.

I picked up the 30GB video because in the back of my head I was thinking "Hey, this will hold almost 40% of my mp3's". I returned it 2 days later and picked up a Nano 4GB. I figured I could use the money I saved to pickup a car adapter (charger) and the PIE adapter. Also, my eyes would be pretty sore if I tried watching a movie on that tiny little screen.

I'm thinking on the nano, since I can run with it. I think the larger one with HD wouldn't be able to take the repeated movement.
