as soon as i saw the title from the forum home page i said to myself "oh god, what now"

scott-
ouch man, ouch. just because you can find funny videos of my family members doesnt mean you can make fun of me for it. im the NORMAL one in this family.

thank god, or should i say, the gods , that im not actually related to these dooshes.

lol BUT do you guys want to know whats really funny about that video? for most indian guys, thats reality. all that stuff happens lol. so far every indian guy i know has had to find a indian girl thru ads, or online, or from their parents

and why does this situation even occur? becuase our families (at least mine) are obsessed with the family still being 100% indian and for us younger generations to be overly cultural. actually most of my family thinks in pathetic b/c i dont listen to indian music or have indian friends or speak hindi (well). :bang:

if you thought racism was gone... you were wrong lol. watch an indian movie and see how white people are portrayed

pitiful really.

but not so for arin! im probably the antithesis of what a "good indian boy" should be lol. seriously, if my family ever tries to set me up for a date ill shoot myself...

but besides, its not like i need any help :P ha! in your faces, other indian dudes

and in closing, as much as i hate you for this scott, that was a pretty funny vid.

//wow.. this turned into a bit of a rant... lol well you deserve to have to read all my blabbing :P all of you :P

hahahahaha that was great. Have to say its very true, luckily my parents dont mind so much where my girlfriends come from!

i must second arin's statement that although this is a parody, its based on incredible reality. Arin, wait till you get to college, then it'll be even more striking!

you have noooooo idea lol.

indian families focus almost 100% on education when the kid is young so he can get a good job and get major mula and most never concentrate on something i like to call "social skills" lol

so ya, most indian men are "socially chellenged"

ever see "bend it likc beckham" or "american Desi?" yeah...

no i havn't caught either of those.

I think people should mix and match maybe if everyone was mix of everything we wouldn't have as much racism.

I'm Irish/English(american but thats were great great grandparents from) and my wife is Philippine/Chinese...and i guess my daughter is European/Asian...

chris-

thats exactly my sentiment. i think we shouldnt care about being one type of person. thats the main reason i dont act "like a good lil indian" and why i never will. if i did, i wouldnt have such a diverse amount of friends and i wouldnt be the colorful, albeit strange, person i am today. i dont want to be confined to one "group" of people or type of lifestyle.

my dad always says things to me like "you have to do this because we're indian and thats what we do" and such. i ahte that. im not some generic type of person in this category of "indians" im a nuique person, and about as un-indian as it gets. lol ill bet just from reading menus most of you know more hindi than me.

if people stopped looking at other people as parts of different "races" (thats a socially contructed thing) and started looking at them as differenet individuals, the world would be so much of a better place.

the only "race" of humans is.... humans lol.

lol just remembered, thats why i am against dating indian girls (not that there are many in my area lol)

i dont want people later on having to tell my future kids that they are being improper indians and that they should act a certain way because they're indian. problem solved, they wont be 100% indian lol. mixing is gooooood

I didn't realize it was such a problem Arin. I hope you don't have that problem when you get older. Maybe your parents are a little less strict when you start "looking".
By the way, I love that sight. I remember doing some stupid things when I was in college, but not as stupid as some of those idiots. To think that those kids are our future. Oh well, they probably thought the same of kids my age.(I'm not that old yet, dang gummit!)
