Isn't Bruce Campbell in the Spiderman movies? I think he was the doorman at the play in SP2, not sure about number one. Of course, I could be totally off, as I really don't know who he is.

Well, try picturing him with another 60 pounds on him, and sans the mop-top haircut.

Also, I believe people were voicing similar concerns when Tobey MacGuire was initially chosen to be Spidey.

If their is a SP movie with Venom, they should play it out like this. It woud be perfect.

Topher becoming Venom... Well, you're gonna need one heck of an imagination

 

The same imiagination that allows you belive a man can become like a "spider" and an alien symbiot can physically meld with a nother human.

But, the reason I don't see Topher being Venom, is he's supposed to be a big, crazy, lunatic/criminal.

Not only that, that'd be one heck of a movie. You'd 4 hours to explain where the Alien came from (Secret Wars, anyone?) and then explain why PP/Spidey decided to part ways, how he got it off him (Mr. Fantastic anyone?) and that would explain why the Alien attaches to a criminal, and makes it sole purpose to defeat Spider-Man.

You change that too much, well I don't want to see it so much.

Now, you throw that into a movie with Sandman, and well thats a whole lotta CGI on the screen at once, and the story is too crowded.

 

Well everyone may have deal as far as Topher working as Venom. I have read various confirmations from cast crew and cgi techs working on that specific character. I think they may just have to take some creative licence with the creation story of Venom. I agree that he would make a better carnage though. It seems that you would have to introduce Venom before carnage though.

Maybe the participation of Venom won't be very big in this one, more of a lead up to the fourth movie.

 

Actually, most everything I've read has said that the Venom story was a plant, but I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.

But, if you completely change the Venom story and leave the whole alien symbiot's hate for PP out, you may as well have Carnage first. (BTW-I've always hated carnage. It was a "lazy" story).

They cannot cut any of the Venom story out, because it would just be senseless to to do the Venom story any other way.

If they get into Venom in SM3, it would be a lot of CGI and a lot of things going on, like Jeffrey said. No good
They need to have a whole movie where Peter finds the symbiote, wears it throughout (fights Rhino, Vulture, Mysterio, or Lizard), then the symbiote and PP seperate at the end of that movie, the symbiote crawls into a church and merges with Eddie.
Wasn't Spidey about to get killed by a villain, but the symbiote saved him? What villain was it?

Chris- you might be on to something.. I take back my hobgoblin pick. The fourth villain must be a less important character that spidey can defeat quikly to fit 4 stories into a movie, 5 stories actually, Gwen Stacy will appear and die most likely like in the comic.

It would be movie suicide if they actually have Venom appear in the movie. I'm thinking they'll have the whole "Symbiote merging with Eddie in the church while contemplating suicide" scene at the end of the movie, and Venom will have a cameo.

When I created this thread, IMDB had reserved space for SP 4, 5, and 6, and stated that the studio had 3 others in mind. But now they are not there ><
