The Challenger looks cool. I appreciate Dodge stuffing the HEMI in it too.

Competition makes everyone better. Come on Ford! It's Mach 1 and Boss time right about now...

Heavy, auto, and I hear an open diff? The car looks OK, but I don't think it will be stealing any trophies out of the Mustang's case sorry.

The new Challenger looks awesome, and I'm a big fan of the original Vanishing Point movie featuring a white E-body Challenger. Almost like Vanishing Point more than Bullitt as there is much more driving and chasing going on.

However, the Challenger will not perform as well as it could due to a number of issues. 425hp 6.1L Hemi is cool, but back it up with a choice of manual or automatic trans (5-cogs is enough either way). Sure-Grip axle would be great (how about 3.55 or 3.91 gears as choices, like other Mopar truck offerings). Serious diet needed! 4200 lbs will zap so much of the life out of the 425hp engine, whereas the same car at 3500 lbs would be quite the contender for the GT500 instead of the Mustang GT (and it's already priced closer to the GT500 than the GT).

I'm ordering an '09 with the 5.7 Hemi (380 hp) and the Track Pak (6-speed manual, 3.92 gears, limited-slip diff). It should MSRP for around $34K. The money I save over an SRT can go for a blower

Oh yeah, it's going to be white, too. Kowalski rides again.

Hemi lovers will think it is the Second Coming and the rest of us will be alot more satisfied with our modded Mustangs, new Camaros, and Vettes. IMO it's still a Dodge and I just can't make myself look beyond that. But if someone likes it then buy it and have fun with it. Just not for me.

Especially when you look at the road. If it isn't that's one very big center line stripe.

I just want to see what happens when that nose heavy 4150 lb beast hits the ground after that jump. Probably broken ball joints and bent control arms all over the pavement.
