Bought my copy today. Gotta tell you, its not what I expected. Looks too much like Driver 3. In my opinion, Vice City is better.

If you didn't like Driver 3, you're not gonna like San Andreas.

 

How is the gameplay? By referencing Driver3 do you mean the graphics are a little larger than Vice City a la Driver3?

I forgot to pick mine up last night. :bang: I may have to wait until the weekend to pick mine up, but I do have a copy reserved.

 

Getting it today. Not for me. I don't have the patience for PS2 games.
I just like the music. Yes, I did buy the music from Vice City.
Hubby will be the one playing it forever.

For a game that came out at the end of 2004, graphic are just ... bad. I expected much better grafics. For example, even Ford Racing 2 have a better graphics.

I compared Driver 3 with San Andreas because they just look alike. Whole city, driving ... its just too much alike. Shooting in San Andreas is really bad.

In my opinion, its not worth $50. In few months, it will be down to $30.

I work at Wall-Mart, so I was there this morning when they got the game.

 

I bought mine last night at Gamestop, and I've gotta say that the game so far is incredible. It plays better than Vice City in too many ways to list. The driving, for now, stinks but thats because you have to build up your driving skills. I love the burglaries and the bicycles. To tell you the truth, I didn't think I was going to like the bikes, but the feel of actually riding a bike, however stupid it sounds, is just incredible. IGN says it's the Best Game Ever, and I think that until Half Life 2 comes out next month that will be true. However, it will be close. The sheer scale of this game is incredible. Yes, the Character Models are a little on the poor side. They look like the other two GTAs. But, what it lacks in model refinement, it makes up for in size, detail, music, gameplay, an improved targeting system, depth, (yes, you have to eat, exercise, and dress yourself now in order to gain respect and Sex Appeal. That's right Sex Appeal, though I haven't figured out what exactly it does yet other than get women to complement me on my physique.) and voice talent. A list that includes: Peter Fonda, Ice-T, Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Penn, Charlie Murphy, and James Woods. Overall I think this game encompasses everything we all loved about previous GTAs and builds on that on such a grand scale that it's incredible. Did I mention you can swim and dive and parachute now? Remember, this still isn't a true sequel, just a branching off of GTA 3. Just like Vice City was. Eventually, when they release GTA 4, I believe it will once again revolutionize gaming in the same way that GTA 3 did. Oh, my. Did I just give a whole review? Wow, I didn't think I had that in me.

 

 

Fun Fact:
Nascar 2k5 which was really bad, is worth $25. We got a copy today, for $10! After the worthless game trade ins.

Man i really wanna get this game. I think its cool that you buuild up skills and stuff, but driving skills? Now thats just gay. Anyway this game looks completely awesome and I hope to get it sometime.

I got the game on friday. My experience will never be like the 1st time i played GTA3, but I think its one of the greatest games ever.

Too bad my PS2 got fried about 6 months ago. Stupid ex-girlfriend!!! If she hadn't tripped while carrying a glass of orange juice then I would be playing that game on my ps2 right now! :bang: I've decided I'll just wait till the PS3 comes out rather than buy a new Ps2 and buy the greatest hits version of San Andreas when its only $19. My buddy has it so I'll just play it at his house.

 

Its amusing, but it can't be played with kids anywhere around. The most uttered word in the game is MF. You can do all kinds of stuff in it- like you have to earn the respect of the "ladies" before you can talk to them. Fly planes, play video games, swim.....
The music is still the #1 draw in it. Love good music.

 

I would have to agree. When i first played GTA3, i was in totall awe because i had never seen a game like it before. I mean, the premise of actually breaking into any car and stealing it had me hooked! I loved it as well as Vice City.

Now, i was a little disappointed in San Andreas at first mainly because like someone mentioned, the graphics did not improve at all since Vice City, however, i continued playing the game and some of the missions are a lot of fun. I also started to find more and more things to do that set this game apart from it's predecesors such as burlary & pimp missions, playing pool, betting on horses, playing mini games, basketball, and you can even fly a leer jet! I did get shot out of the air by a fighter jet though, and i hear that you can even fly one!

Oh yeah, there are a couple more surprises in the game that fans of the previous two titles will enjoy! B)

Overall, I'll give this game a solid A!

The more I play it the better the Graphics look to me. In fact i think they are great. I was offroading in red county on my Monster truck when i realized it.

Hey, has anyone seen Bigfoot yet? Supposedly he, along with a Sea Serpent, Ghost Cars (I've seen), a ghost army, and UFOs (I think I've seen) are supposed to be hidden within the game. I know there is an area 51, but you never know what else. And bigfoot is supposed to be somewhere near Back O' Beyond or Mount Chilliad early in the morning. I'm still looking. If I ever see him, you will see a pic here.

 

I gave up on the Bigfoot thing. Till I see proof on him I will say he isnt legit. Man this game is a drug.

Redstar do you still think SA isnt good. You posted the day it came out, so maybe now you played it more, and maybe you see how good it is.

 

I second the drug comment... This is my current crack, im into the boon docks now, pretty much just running out the missions, I have the mexican psycho girlfriend and we rob banks together!

I figured out how to sneak into the airport, and steal the jet to fly around to other cities, only problem is the dang wanted level doesnt go down at all!...thats why I am running the mission, so I can get there legit and be able to relax in the casinos...
