Sad news for Boston fans and music lovers in general...
....This is the statement from bostonband.comAs you all know by now, BOSTON'S lead singer, Brad Delp, was found dead in his home on Friday, March 9th 2007. Plans for live BOSTON performances this summer have, of course, been cancelled.
My heart goes out to his wonderful fiance Pamela, his two children and other family members, his close friends and band mates, and to the millions of people whose lives were made a little brighter by the sound of his voice. He will be dearly missed.
Tom Scholz (lead guitar/founder)
...This is awful. Boston is a great band with happy and cheerful music. Brad Delp had an amazing voice and could hit some incredible notes, as heard in More Than A Feeling. They were planning to tour again soon.....I'll never get to see them live...

Truley sad I never knew untill I seen it here ! Shocked Yes , but were all fowers wilting away, so we will all get there at some point as well. I'm glad I have all the albums so I have started lisening now, as with myself everytime a new track came out something had happened in my lif, so everytime I hear that track Wham I can totally recall what I was dooing & such, So when I hear lots of Boston tunes I have " Happy Memories "
I've been thinking about this all weekend. BOSTON has always been my favorite band ever since the debut album in 1976. Saw the band in '78, '79, '86, '03, & '04. Didn't really know Brad that well, although I did have the chance to meet him twice, first at the Delp/Goudreau CD release in 11/03 and then backstage in Atlanta in '04. He had a way of making you feel as though you had been friends for years. When I met him in November 2003, he took so much time to talk and seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say. Then, in August 2004, the next time we met, he actually remembered me by name and sent me backstage passes for after the show. Had one of the event security bring them out to me before the gates opened. Got some pretty cool looks from other fans when the security girl came out calling my name then handed me the passes saying "Brad asked me to give these to you." You should have seen the jaws drop. Anyway...he was a super nice guy with awesome talent. He'll be missed. Hard to imagine I'll never get the chance again. As one of his songs on the Delp/Goudreau cd says, "It's what you leave behind" and he really lived life that way. Godspeed Brad!
Wasn't aware of this until now. I'm a huge fan of their music up to and including Third Stage. I saw them twice in concert, the first time being for the promotion of Third Stage, and second time was a few years ago here in Tampa. He definitely had an instantly recognizable voice IMO. I remember hearing "Dreams" from Barry Goudreau's solo album on the radio and thinking "Wow that's Boston!!!" This of course at a time when "the next Boson record" was a rumor and still 6 years away. Definitely a loss to music fans
He may have been a good man and friend but something wasn't going right for him to end it as he did.

Condolences to his fiancee, kids, ex-wife, bandmates (both Boston & Beatlejuice), and fans,
Enjoyed their music when they first came out and still crank it when it comes on.

Sadly it looks like he committed suicide....what a waste
. He seemed like a nice and down to earth guy, and Boston can cheer me up no matter what. I wonder if he knew how many lives he had touched through Boston.
Suicide is never the answer....there is always something to live for and somebody who will miss you.

I had just gone to see Beatlejuice on the last anniversary of John Lennon's death.
My wife said it was the best concert she had ever seen.
Brad was great.
It was a small local place and you could meet with the whole band.
You are never too old to Rock n' Roll, but he was too young to die.

truly sad, Boston is one of my favorite bands. I often think about how horrible music would be with out the greats, and now we have lost another one. Being relativley young (22) I was never able to see them before and now it looks like I never will. My best wishes go out to his family and firends.....Brad thanks for the music.
