I would think that the .410 / .45 Colt Judge would be enough to get any defensive job done. So they went 28 Gauge... Next up 20 Guage then 12 Gauge. And we are back to the alley sweeper. At what point does such a handgun become to punishing to shoot or too heavy to carry.

The "Judge" is already too big and heavy for most carry purposes, and .410 shells out of a short, pistol barrel are nearly useless.

It's mostly a marketing gimmick.

They got it cleared up w/ the BATF and are back to being able to produce it.

But, I agree - it's mostly pointless. I've got no use for one. I always thought The Judge was stupid and am disappointed that S&W is now producing one as well.

Guaranteed if you pull that thing out the enemy is running the other way! And if not one shot will have the enemy backflipping away lol

Sweet.
As for a hand gun production is limited to .50 cal. in size so at least 12 ga. is out.

My sister has one of those tauras judges. It would work well on the nightstand. She carries it in her purse from time to time. Don't mess with her LOL. I have been looking at the mossberg 930 autoloader with the breech barrel. I don't really need the breech barrel but it does look pretty cool.

or the winchester sxp pump for about 200 less.

Mossberg 500 American Cruiser (special edition).

23" barrel, 9 rounds of boom, and a tip full of pain.

That grip is surprisingly easy to hold onto. I've been a pistol shooter for a decade, especially like Magnum revolvers and compact pistols. People say those tend to recoil at an uncomfortable level, but I've grown completely used to it over the years, which has probably helped me in taming the 12 ga pistol grip.

I really like that, but the price scared me away. The Mossy 500 I got cost me $300. Couldn't pass it up.
