I Will Take a Rat Rod Over The Latest Fad Which is Truck Squatting! Some Take To Extremes That are Quite Hazardous To Anybody on The Road With a Maxed Out Truck!

"Truck squatting" refers to modifying a truck's suspension to lift the front end and lower the rear, creating a "squatted" appearance, often called the Carolina Squat. While some initially lifted trucks for off-road use, the current trend focuses on a distinctive style but significantly compromises safety by impairing steering, braking, and driver visibility, leading to numerous state bans and fines. There is another type of truck squatting that happens when towing a load, where the rear of the truck sags under the weight, which is a separate issue related to overloading or worn suspension.

Understanding the Modified "Squat" (Carolina Squat)
  • Definition:
A truck modification where the front is significantly higher than the rear, creating a slanted, "squatting" look.
  • Purpose:
Primarily for style and aesthetic, though it originated with some off-road functionality.
  • How it's done:
Using lift kits to raise the front and lowering components (like lowering kits or removing suspension parts) for the rear.
  • Safety Concerns:
    • Poor Visibility: The high-angled headlights blind oncoming drivers, and the driver's own view can be obstructed.
  • Handling Issues: The uneven suspension negatively affects steering, braking, and overall control.
  • Uneven Ride: Creates a rough driving experience due to the suspension imbalance.
  •
  • Legality:
Many states have banned the Carolina Squat due to safety concerns, issuing fines and other penalties for non-compliance.

Understanding Truck Squatting from Towing (Trailer Sag)
  • Definition:
The rear of the truck sinks significantly lower than the front when a heavy or uneven load is placed in the bed or the trailer is attached.
  • Causes:
    • Towing loads that exceed the truck's capacity.
  • Towing an unevenly distributed load.
  • Worn or inadequate suspension components.
  •
  • Impacts:
    • Rough ride.
  • Poor steering and braking control.
  • Headlights that point too high.
  • Tire misalignment and premature wear.
  •
  • Solutions:
Using airbags or adding leaf springs to the rear suspension to resist the weight and maintain a level stance.

A neighbor of mine was complaining about the price of eggs all summer long and decided it was time to invest in some fowl and raise his own ,, He is quite wealthy .. He spent well over 300 $ to build a nice chicken house with running water and continuous feeder and a fan blowing on them in the heat .. He lets them out every morning and due to his yard being immaculate and pedicured his birds spend most of the day on my property .. i dont mind .. My yard is mostly dirt and leaves and trees .. they can forage all they want and i dont think i will tell him he has 3 roosters .. HA !..

just wait until those three roosters start crowing in the middle of the night (like mine do) .... you might want to disappear them when they come over to visit LOL ;-)

Burn it! Or put a black snake in there. I get poison at the co-op that looks like green dog food. Good luck!

I Used To Have a Mice Problem But These Days I Got So Many Cats it Has Calmed Down To Nil!

But Back in The Day I Would Make Super Traps Like This. Being Glued Down They Don't Jump Around When They Snap and You Have a Better Chance of Catching! To Get Really Equipped I Would Use Very Sticky UPS Labels And Use Some Spray Glue To Attach Them The Non Sticky Side Down and Have The Label Stick Side Be The Extra Trap For Them and They Would Litterally get Stuck To Those Some Times Before Even Reaching The Traps!

To Be Clear The Adhesive Covered The Entire Top of Box So If They Got On it and Stopped They Were Pretty Stuck! These Were The Labels That UPS Would Send You if You Ordered Them From UPS and Were VERY Sticky!

If You Have Rat Size Critters Use The Bigger Traps! Same Concept. Put The Box on Your Floorboard and See What Happens!

Part Number Below Pic if Anybody Down The Road Wants To Try the KC Super Traps!

This One Even Has a Clean 5.0 Mustang in It! I Don't Know About Pet Safe Though as Any Critter Who Gets It's Paw in the Modified Trap is Gonna Get Hurt! Personally I Would Only Use It inside a Car That Small Pets Could Not Get Into!

To share the above video link, I had the FB video open, clicked the share button that looks like a curved right arrow, clicked copy link, then hit reply here on your thread, click the icon that looks like a chain link, then pasted link into the box that was open for the link, then submit.
