been forever since i posted but i have been struggling with just about every combination of levers and pulleys to get this 5 speed clutch to work .. i have it probably as near as it will every get but the travel is too far and the pedal is too hard to push ,, i love the 5 speed gearing .. i guess in the near future i will resort to a hydraulic throw out bearing and clutch pedal but i need to absorb a little more of that expense .. close to a $1000 $ setup ..the engine is stronger with the direct drive that the slipomatic 350 ever was .. it has 190 HP which is about waht a stock 289 would have had .. i may later on even look at some kind of power adder .. i know these engines can make 500 Hp easily with a bolt on blower .. paxton style ..

well i have given up on trying to make a cable operated bell crank type clutch work .. i have purchased a hydrolic throw out bearing set up .. little disappointed i have to make my on hose setup but i can do that . i will have to butcher my firewall a little bit .. dropping the trans was not a big deal .. gravity helped a lot .. lifting it back up will be .... i have pictures but dont know how to get them from my camera or my phone .. i will work on that ..from what little i got to drive the thing with a 5 speed it will be a blast someday ..

finally remembered how to add a picture from my camera .. got to write it down i guess .. i have the hydraulic master cylinder mounted and i think it is correct .. i have not put things back together yet as i have having an issue with the throw out bearing clearance .. it is suggested that there be 1/8 th inch spacing between the bearing face and the pressure plate fingers and they give you a ton of spacers to set the gap with .. well i dont have a gap to begin with .. everything is too tight .. i am having to fabricate trans spacers to back the trans off a bit .. i bought a fluid feed line but have to get the bleeder line ... just dragging my feet .. dreading how i am going to get the trans back up into place ..and not feeling well most of the time does`nt help ..

earlier this year i posted a few few entries about my futile effort to grow some cotton .. well a couple of them struggled to stay alive and have come to produce product nearly .. these plants are 4 months old and one has a bloom and the other actually has a cotton bow on it .. regular ones in the field are 3 or 4 feet tall and are in the process of being picked even as we speak .. these i fertalized and watered and cared for for 4 months and they are 6 inches tall . HA ! never claimed to have a green thumb .. i knew that cotton was a hot weather and dry weather plant but did not know that it originally was imported from the sahara dessert .,. my plants never got much sun .. i think they will survive thru the winter ,, i hope to get at least one cotton bow in a few weeks ..

Success! Even in small measures you still had a great success. Pretty cool.

a bit of an update .. i ended up pulling the engine back out in order to install the trans back on it .. got it all put back in and hooked up all the hydraulic hoses and bled everything and had no clutch . it would start engaging a little bit about an inch from the floor . it was too cold one day .. was not feeling well another day .. was discouraged a few days and let it sit for a month .. i decided i needed to change the pedal ratio and the pushrod length so i took the plunger out of the clutch master cylinder ..it got cold again and i said screw it !! I`m gunna put it back together and push it outside till warmer weather .. after putting it back together it started working .. i can only suspect that the plunger on the master cylinder was stuck over half way down and not pushing ant fluid .. i have only driven it a little bit and need to put more confidence miles on it but that will have to wait for warmer weather .. it is a blast with the 5 speed .. ..
