Radar Detectors.....

Well I need to start shopping for a new radar detector. I've had Cobra Radar Detectors for years, but unfortionately the fate of the Cobra radar detectors I have owned, the speaker always gets shot or blown out and there's no more beeping or voice alert after 3+ years. so safe to say I will not be purchasing Cobra detectors anymore.

Can anyone recommend me a good radar detector brand?

Is the valentine1 really worth the $400?

I have the Escort Passport and I like it. It is rated just about as high as the Valentine 1, except that the V1 tells you from which direction the radar is coming. Escort has one out now that has a GPS built in and you can program it with false alerts, detector always goes off in front of a store, tell it not to, but if a different signal is there, it alerts you. Pretty neat.

love my V1. Yes, it gives direction and also it gives threat count, so if there is one more signal near the Mall than normal, you have a chance to know.
