We don't have one and are not getting one. I got a Wii and a 360 for less than a ps3 alone.
Funny though- I was shopping the other day and they announced a dozen just arrived- The stampede to electronics was Incredible.

I don't play much but I got the 60 gig for my son. Games; Need for Speed Carbon, Resistance, Ridge Racer 7, and Call of Duty 3. Haven't hooked it up yet, waiting for the big day. Gotta get some Blue Ray movies too. Anyone check that out yet? How is it compared to regular DVD's?
It's higher def.
I was thinkin about getting the HD-DVD player for my X360, they are more on the same line as BluRay
Compared to regular dvds though... think of it like watching regular stations at 480i and then watching 720p for highdef....
its night and day

PS3: $500 (20GB) or $600 (60GB)
Xbox 360: $300 (no harddrive or wireless controller) or $400 (20GB)
Wii: $250
Now, seeing as the $500 PS3 is functionally equivalent to the $400 Xbox 360 (actually it's not, to technically match the PS3 functionality you have to buy the $200 HD-DVD add-on for the 360) this is a more than fair comparison.
So I'm going to take the bold stance that "$400 + $250 < $500" is simply not true.
And no I wouldn't have to match 'functionality' as that is not my intent of the 'gaming system'
It is not a fair comparison as it is not a required add-on
The sole purpose of the machine (playing games) isn't hindered by not having that piece of hardware.
BluRay should have been an add on to keep the costs down,
but of course Sony wants to shove proprietary hardware down peoples throats
I don't want to get in a religeous battle here, but any company that insults their fanbase doesn't deserve to be in business.
(ie: alliwantforxmasisapsp and the 'people would buy a piece of wood if it had a sony label on it)
Oh, I agree, and truth be told, I absolutely dislike Sony as a company. And if it weren't for Metal Gear Solid 4 and Gran Turismo 5 I would have zero interest in ever owning a PS3. I just greatly dislike misinformation.
i bought 3 on launch day and sold them all. im glad i did too, because im not that impressed with it. that and the supposed failure rate. I'll just stick with my 360, my gaming rig(PC), and I'll wait on a Wii.
