This is what is being talked about.
It is only broadcast radio/TV/Cable/Satellite TV signals.
It is NOT internet. It is NOT ham radio, CB, cell phones.
It IS somewhat disturbing that one entity can in effect take over the airwaves, but then again.. the FCC *already has this ability*, and has had it since the 50s, easily. This is a natural progression of being safe in our nation, and I don't have an issue with it... if this is as far as it goes.
But the Internet? Yeah... I'll be watching, as I'll be at work on Wednesday during that time, as will a lot of others be at work... it's Wednesday-week at 2pm Eastern. That's 1pm Central, and at that time, I and my company campuses will be furiously using the internet on a 20MB up/down fiber connection (each campus, mind)... I'll know if something's afoot, and you'll hear it first, right here, in this thread... provided they turn the internet back on, of course.
/Conspiracy theories ala Beck and others are getting out of hand.
