Reading a little abouT the new haswell, you're gonna have to buy a new mobo also.

Oh yeah, that's half the upgrade. My old x58 board doesn't have half the features these new boards have.

Also after reading some more, it's suppose to be a PITA to overclock, due to it not being able tolerate much heat .
I would very interested to see how it works for you.
I would still get it, as it is still slightly better than the Ivy bridge, and around the same price.

Yeah I've read most overclock to at least 4.5, should be about 30% faster clock for clock than my 920 so should be a nice boost.

Yeah, I have also read people OCing to only 3.9 and then having issues. Could just be a hardware problem

Yeah, don't know why they list them that way, it's 3.9 turbo so basically 3.9 max. Max is what matters.

Ohhhh, all the ones I've seen just say 3.5 ( usually it will also say the max turbo boost freq. but I guess not this time ) either way I'd be interested on how well it works for you.

Yep that's why I got the second 670, I've been playing at 100-120 fps and once you get used to it, you have to have it. It's like that 70in tv, you can't go backwards to your old 19 again

Well you have to have a monitor that has 120+ refresh rate to see the difference, 2000 fps on a 60hz monitor will still only show 60.

Monitor > any tv I can tell when I drop from 100+ to 70-80 in bf3. There's a smoothness you get used to.

After about 75fps, the human eye can no longer differentiate between frame rates, though that does depend on lighting, the medium itself, colors, etc.

Eyes don't see in fps, there's no proof your eyes stop noticing differences at any fps, just theories that can't be proven one way or the other. Regardless I can instantly tell a difference when I drop below 100, just like others can when they drop to 40 from 60.

I didn't say your eyes see in fps; however, it's generally accepted that the human eye can not differentiate between images that are presented any shorter than 1/60 sec. Thus, 60fps. Seventy-five is the high end of the frequency, and it's rare that a person has the visual acuity to differentiate frames that are being presented at 75fps.

Just from a google search it looks like its all a matter of opinion. Simply put, your eyes can intake any amount of fps just fine, the change from 120-80 is when your eyes notice the difference. Your eyes sync to w/e frame rate your at, when those frames drop, that's when you feel it. I have no issue playing at 60 fps if its constant, in the same way that 120 is even better, if its constant. Just try bf3 or crysis at 60 then 120 turning left and right, you'll see just how much more fluid 120 is over 60.
