A friend of mine is going back to Iraq tomorrow. He was out for two weeks on leave.

I have been searching for months now for a song that was released in the 80s. The title was "Bombs over Baghdad". Now, I know Outkast has remade this song, and in fact uses the original song in his remake. However, I can not for the LIFE of me find the original of this song!!!

Any of you 80s buffs remember the song? If you listen to the Outkast remake, in the beggining you can hear the original score in the backround, and then the chorus is from the original song.

I am putting together a CD for him to take back with him. If anyone has any other suggestions of songs that would be cool, let me know! I have to have it done by tonight, so, its going to be a tight squeeze.

Go to google and type in Bombs over baghdad, war songs, military songs, anti-war songs. You'll find plenty.

 

when I type in Bombs Over Baghdad, in either Google or Yahoo, all I get is the Outkast song. I have yet to find a single reference to the original. Its driving me crazy!

John Trudell is the only one I saw who sang it also. He's a Native American singer and he did it in the early 90's.
