My excitement comes and goes. I can take it or leave it. Then I think- WHY ISN"T IT TOMORROW. I have the skipper 500 loaded with EC to incite me into interest. I think its the funky weather here, no sun makes me want to hibernate.
Last concert I caught was DMB in 2000 or 2001 and I thought it sucked, I haven't listened to them since. So this better make up for all of it.

I can't sleep!!!! I keep thinking CLAPTON!
I am using my massive EC resources to burn a CD of the setlist right now. I don't know how I will make it through the rest of the day!!!

How am I going to make it through the day?????????????????????
I have 10 hours to kill.
Not that I am hot to see Robert Cray or anything, but I can't flipping wait.
Joel-
You have 3 chances...
20 Oct - Orlando FL
21 Oct - Jacksonville FL
23 Oct - Miami FL

Oh I wish I could drag the strat out tonight and have it magically autographed by the man himself!
I guess I am going to settle for some guitar picks if they have em.
My girl and I did get some kickass new clothes for the occasion though!
The Goth and the cool Mom hit the town.

Best song: Wonderful Tonight
Worst song: Anything I didn't like.
MAN!
we are deaf, but it was worth it-I even survived a wrong turn through the northside of Birmingham at 11 PM in the dark.
Worst price jacking $35.00 for a tshirt and $6 for a beer. I bought some EC picks also.

NO you may not have a pick, These are for Brian to play Wonderful tonight on the strat for me.
We got premier parking, which meant we were just across from the entrance in lighted parking. We got in around 6:45 and went shopping for merchandise. We got some drinks and went to sit down around 7:20. Robert Cray is not my thing, so we went outside to the smoking terrace until he was over. Around 8:30 clapton came on. Our seats were on the floor level on the left of the stage 25 rows back. Turns out Clapton takes stage right, but they had huge TVS. I didn't know you could photo and video, so all I had was my crappy camera phone.
When it was over, there were limos EVERYWHERE! We made a wrong turn (right instead of left) and wound up in the ghetto. Finally we got back on the interstate and headed home to sleep for a minute.
Here's the wrapup:
On 18 October, EC and his band performed a 17 song set at the Birmingham-Jefferson Arena in Birmingham, Alabama. The set list was the same as the last few shows except for the acoustic set. Gone were "Back Home" and "I am Yours". They were replaced with "Key to the Highway" and "San Francisco Bay Blues". Clapton even played the kazoo! Those in attendance were treated to outstanding performances of "I Shot The Sheriff," "Got To Get Better In A Little While" and the guitar tour-de-force, "Little Queen of Spades." As has become usual, Robert Cray joined Eric for "Old Love" and the encore, "Crossroads". Cray wrote "Old Love" with Eric for the 1989 album, "Journeyman." The band now moves on to Florida for the final dates of this leg of the US Tour.
Setlist 18 October 2006 - Birmingham, AL
Pretending- Sweet holy crap he rocked this!
I Shot The Sheriff- HE played this like the Bob Marley Version
Got To Get Better In A Little While-Cigarette break
Old Love (with Robert Cray)- WOW!
Anyday- Snack & Bathroom Break.
Motherless Children- I didn't even know I love this song.
sit down set
Key To The Highway- WOW! Out came the martin!
San Francisco Bay Blues- A Kazoo!!
Nobody Knows You When You're Down And Out- Meh.
Running On Faith- I adore this song!
After Midnight- NICEEEEEEEEEEEE
Little Queen Of Spades- Come on Already, get to the good stuff..
Further On Up The Road- The guitar solos were incredible!!!
Wonderful Tonight- He rocked this, low blue light, solo on him!
Layla- The After song Holy Crap- This song Rocked!
Cocaine- Live and Long!
Encore
Crossroads (with Robert Cray)- I got close enough to spit on him at this point, then we got outside 2 seconds before the song was over to beat the crowd.
