Awesome show! They both played for about the same length of time with Fogerty opening with all the great CCR tunes. Mellencamp followed with great show. It's amazing how many songs these two guys have that we all know.
It was opening night of Summerfest and they had fireworks towards the end of Mellencamp's show. It was one of those "you had to be there" moments when the song Pink Houses was played. "Ain't that America, for you and me, ain't that America, something to see, baby, ain't that America, home of the free, yeah! While, that was playing, there was a awesome display of red, white and blue in the sky over Lake Michigan. Like I said, you had to be there!
