Mid Florida TMS-ers - Tornadoes - everyone okay???

JUST heard about the tornadoes in the area overnight (14 deaths?) and wanted to make sure the TMS-ers from that area are okay!

(just talked to my Pop in Deltona and they are fine - 12 miles north west though, Deland got NAILED apparently)

Everyone chime in and let us know you are cool!

Perry & Jackie's area, just above me, got the intial brunt when it came ashore. Six inches of rain, and heavy gusts. Hope they were battened down.

They said on the radio "West of Orlando"...

Dave (MTAS) - check in?

Hope all's well with everybody down there. It's not too often you hear of 14 deaths from a Florida tornado.

I live in Plant City in Eastern Hillsborough county not too far from Dave (MTAS). I work in Orlando near the airport. I was on the road from PC to Orlando between 05:00 and 06:00 this morning and other than a few light wind gusts and a little rain, I didn't observe any particularly bad weather. My wife didn't leave PC until after 07:00 after most of the bad weather had passed. It just goes to show you that sometimes you don't know when and where mother nature is going to strike.

It rained like hell for about 20 minutes this morning, but in Orlando nothing but showers this second. I haven't seen any damage, but I also haven't seen any rides operating over at Universal today.
Damage over to the east looks nasty though!

Yeah all clear here in Plant City, as Phil mentioned. And good to hear everything on your side of I4 is OK too Phil! Dave and I have been chatting via email and phone all day. Thanks for the concern John. Oh and hey - I was in St. Louis last weekend and got a shocking reminder of what 15*F weather is like!!! But on a cool note (no pun intended ), my wife got to see it snowing for the first time in her life

Survived, along with all three production shops. My prayers go out to those who were not as fortunate.

Poor Tom Terry on channel 9 was reporting at 1:30am when I went to bed, and was still on the air at 9am when I got rolling today... that was one long night of watching radar sweeps!

Thanks for checking on everyone, Dave.

My kids were a little scared and we were 75 miles away from the tornado (F3).

Many prayers said for those affected.

Perry & Jackie are only 10 miles north of me. There area got wacked. No Tornado, but heavy heavy wind damage and six inches of rain in less than an hour. That storm came on shore right over them. I have not been able to make contact with other friends in the same area yet either. Driving up in the AM. We've been cleaning up ourselfs. I'll Let you guys know.

I live in Broward Co. Florida and know how bad it can get with hurricanes and tornados. Hope every one is okay. There is supposedly a box that you can put in your house that sounds off an alarm if life-threatening weather like tornados comes around. No a bad idea if you live in Central FLA. No sure how you get the box but asking the city sounds like a good start.
