Marine Corps Marathon

WELL....Yesterday I ran the Marine Corps Marathon in D.C. and it was a FANTASTIC time!!!! I finished in 4 hours 48 minutes....which was alright...at mile 16 my knee went out and later on I stopped to help a friend keep going...both added a pretty decent amount of time....overall I'm pleased being this was the first race I've ever run.....anybody else a runner?!?!?!?

Congrats! I'm newer to long distance running and I think I'm going to do a half-marathon pretty soon. Good times also! I've never ran more than 12 miles so a full marathon sounds crazy right now...

Ive run four marathons.

Chicago

Memphis
and Marine Corps in DC.

Congrats, very awesome you've accomplished it. You should be very proud of your accomplishment.

I've done 25 marathons including Marine Corp, Boston, NY, Chicago and San Diego. I'm more into the triathlons now and have done Ironman Lake Placid and a few other full and half IMs. This year did Wine Glass Marathon in Corning, NY and 1/2 IM in Montreal (Esprit). Next year planning on doing 1/2 IMs in Tremblant and Poconos.

BTW - congratulations on completing your first marathon!

Thanks guys!!! It was definitely something I'm going to do again!!!!

Ethan...It's not something you can just wake up and do, heck just a couple months ago I thought I was crazy for trying but a little bit everyday helps and eventually it's not that bad....it's no picnic but it was much better than I anticipated!
