longest car trip you've ever had
I saw this on another forum, and thought I'd bring it up here. What's the longest car trip you've ever had? Doesnt have to be in a mustang
My longest was over a week, but only 4 days of driving, from SC through NC into VA. Spent a couple days there, drove back through Raleigh, and headed west Into the TN mountains, down through Chattanooga, to Atlanta, and back home. Total: between 1250-1300 miles
My longest one day was about 570 miles, and I got paid for it!

I've had several long trips in the car. From Corpus Chriti, TX to San Francisco, CA when I was 19. Or from Victoria, TX (just south of Houston) to DC in 2002. Both were round trips. On the California trip we returned through LA then decided to go to Vegas and then came back across the Hoover dam. Only problem was I was one of 8 people in a short full size van.
Longest stretch driven in a day was from Corpus Christi, TX to Atlanta, GA I was freakin tired and full of coffee and cigarettes.

Took us about 38-40 hours and we drove it in about 2 and a half days.
My dad is a truck driver and I went with him many times. Sometimes we would be on the road for at least 7 days.

Redwood City to Monterey for a car show. Not sure of the miles or how long it took. I drove me, my brother, and my Dad. It was the first time I had driven any length at all with them in the car. I'm hoping to do a longer drive this summer, but we'll see

North Alabama to Los Angeles and back in a 26ft Penske. A friends parents paid to have her moved out there after college. After a year she decided LA wasn't the place for her and wanted to move home. Problem was her parents weren't going to pay for her to move back so a few of us were "guilted" into driving out and bringing her back. Since I had a CDL guess who got driving duties. Let me tell you 3-wide in a moving truck out to LA is not an ideal way to spend your spring break.
Nashville to San Francisco port 2300 miles, then another 2400 by air for me, and boat for the car, to Honolulu. 4700 total one way.
3 years later HOnolulu to LA, then LA to Warner Robins Ga by car for another 2300 miles.
All driving was done in a POS 87 dodge charger. I hated that car.

Drove straight from mesa az to waukegan il. 1771 miles approx according to google maps.
Only stopping for gas and snacks, I arrived at my destination 28 hours after starting.
I'll never do that again, next time i will make sure to bring someone that can also drive part of the way.

Art, I was hoping you'd chime in! I sat down last night, and thought about a fantastic road trip I'd like to take when I retire (about 50 years from now): 26 stops, about 11500 miles, and according to google about 181 total hours of driving.
Did a trip on my motorcycle several years ago. Baltimore MD to eastern Kentucky, then south to Columbus, GA. Next day was north west to Joplin, MO (about 700 miles that day). Then up to Des Moines, IA for a week. Took all back roads going back thru Indiana, Ohio, and West Virginia. Whole trip was 2 weeks, 4000 miles. On a Ducati Monster.
When we bought the Cobra II off of eBay, we drove from Illinois to Northern California and back in about a week. On the way back we could go above 55 because we had to rent a uHaul to bring the car back because there weren't any car dollies available and the steering knuckle was missing. $1500 car ended up costing about $5k! It was a rushed trip, which is too bad, because we really could have made it fun. But, it was fun in it's own way. I will never visit Northern CA again, though. People there are strange.
3600 miles - New Freedom, PA to Denver CO for my Brother's wedding right after Katrina hit New Orleans with stopovers in Indianapolis and Junction City on the way out (2.5 days) and back (2.5 days). I thought Gas prices were high (most we paid was 3.19). I'd be happy to pay that today

I've ridden in a car from Cleveland to Orlando and back... the farthest I've driven was Cleveland to Richmond, VA to Williamsburgh, VA to Charlotte, to Pigeon Forge, TN to Cincinnati, OH to Santa Claus, IN, back to Cincinnati, OH back to Cleveland.
