Deb and I are taking the Mach to Houston,Tx. on vacation, leaving Wed. after work. Been promising her we'd go out there to visit her friends she left when she moved back home. Stopping at Gulf Shores on the way home for a couple days. Lots of driving, I'm not a plane person plus it's cheaper to drive. Takes longer but I'd rather see the sites and have my own car.

Have a wonderful time!! Nothing beats a good road trip.(I have plane phobia too). Its too much fun to pull off and see the sights when you want to.

Have a blast in the gulf too.

 

Sounds great. On one day trips of about 500 miles, I'd rather drive. If it's farther than that, it depends upon how much time I have. But I've been known to put in some 800 mile days between San Diego and Idaho.

You really can't appreciate this country until you drive through it.

 

I've done this trip 3 times before when I used to race at the Fun Ford Weekends at Baytown. It's been about 10 years since then. What I remember the most is how bad I-10 was.

 

We're gone. You guys and gals have fun. Talk at ya in about a week. Texas, here we come.

Alright Justin, I'm back. 2400 miles later on the Mach and Deb and I are pooped. Came home a day early to rest up for work, clean the car and check on our parents. My Bob Glidden '70 Pro Stock Mustang came while I was gone along with the Cobra taillights I bought off eBay. I'll post pics later.

After 2400 miles, I'd be beat too. I bet it was a very fun 2400 though.

 

We had a great time. Didn't stay at Gulf Shores very long, not even a day, we were ready to come home. Drove from houston to G.S., went to the beach for a while, at dinner, went back to the hotel and crashed. The next morning went back to the beach for a few hours, took Deb to Foley so she could antique shop for a little bit then came home. Spent most of our time in Houston with her friends. Saw one other Mach 1 on the whole trip.

 

We have planned our vacation for the end of May, going to Tennessee, Pigeon Forge area. We rented a cabin for the week, & we will go to a dinner show and then to Dollywood. Do some sightseeing and just R E L A X! Me, hubby and the kids.

Gonna be showing off the stang, too! Didnt think I would go without her, did you?

 

I'm going to Europe on May 13th (Friday, the 13th) and I'll be there entire summer. I really hate flying, over 25 hours in the airplane Chicago - Paris - Belgrade.
Home Sweet Home. Can't wait.
