I'm so pissed...

You all know the saying "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me." Well, last winter I had these valve stem caps on my GT stolen right out of my driveway.

I live above a funeral home and the driveway and parking lot are a thoroughfare for some people in the neighborhood, plus kids walk through the lot all the time. I decided that I was not going to have them stolen again, so I purchased these with a theft-deterrent design and a special tool to remove/install them.

Basically, on the new ones, if you try to remove them without the tool they just turn freely as if they're stripped. I tried myself to remove them without the tool and I was unable to. Well, someone else was able to remove them from my car, again, from right out of my driveway. They left one of the bodies of the cap on one of the stems, but the rest of them were gone. Now even with the tool these aren't easy to remove so it took some time and I believe this time it was done during the day while the first time was at dusk/dark. WTF is wrong with people? Does anyone have any ideas on how to stop this from happening again other than using the crappy OEM black style caps? I know I might have to just resign myself to using them but then what happens next time? They can't steal the caps so they key the car? Or steal something else? I live in a small town in the middle of NW Illinois so it's not like there's a lot of crime here.

Got them also. Simply push down while turning, slide right off.

Make friends with a local cop and get some "thieves powder". The jerks hands will turn a nice shade of blue-or- red and does not wash off.
