I am sick of relentless advirtising. Everywhere you look, your computer, tv radio, phone, And now they have "bugs" you cant remove from your computer! You get slammed by an add as soon as you log on. Here's what we do.

Boycott any company that uses spam or popups to create a nuisance for the average american. Not only that, e-mail each company telling them about it, and if enough people do it, maybe these idiots will get the hint. I think it is time to hit them where it hurts. Anybody with me?

Or you could just fix your CPU so you would never get popups. I have not had ONE popup in 2 months....HOw did I, the CPU illiterate do it?

SIMPLE

1) Adaware
2) Firefox

Clean your CPU up with adaware and then never let it get dirty again with FireFOX

IE5 IS THE CRAPPIEST PROGRAM EVER.

I promise NO popups.

Install program called ZoneAlarm and keep it on whenever your computer is on. That will stop the pop-ups.

Install program called Spybot - Search & Destroy. It will find any error on your computer and it will fix it.

Trust me on these 2. I used to have adaware on my Windows ME, and then recently a friend of mine installed Windows XP on my computer. He suggested ZoneAlarm and Spybot. Since then, I didn't have any pop-ups.

I have both of those and they work really well. ZoneAlarm came with my cable modem and I got Spybot from the IT people at work.

just get Ad-aware and spybot: S&D to catch the spyware on your pc that may be causing popups, and then go to www.panicware.com and download Pop-Up Stopper to end all web page popups. I havent had one in about 8 months with this setup.

Hey zeppelin, you have to manually run spybot if want it to clean your computer. Start it, update it and run it. Just installing it won't do anything. I run mine once a month or so.

Even when ZoneAlarm is not on, I don't get any pop-ups.

I used to get a lot of pop-ups when I used Windows ME.

If any of you use any Windows other than XP Pro (ME, 2000 ...), get Windows XP Pro. Then all problems should stop.

If you rebuild your machine, create 2 partitions. Then you'll have a C: and D: drive. Keep all of your data on D:.

That way, if you have to rebuild later, you can re-format C: and not lose all of your saved pictures, resumes etc.

Just a suggestion.
