I say my Baby Boomer Generation is the best
We knew our cars personally.so we learned to work on them. It was fix it or ride to bus to work. We took our work seriously.
We did very well without government programs.

Of course we are biased so I will agree.
The previous generation thought they were the best, winning world wars and surviving the depression. In 40 years the next generation will think they are the best and truly believe that 'woke' was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

another biased late boomer here (born in late 1960) .... agreed with all that!
what we think of as "minor difficulties" are major catastrophes these days .... imagine having to go without a smart phone for a few hours; how would we possibly survive?
but not sure if we did such a good job with the next generation, they seem to have gone off the rails a bit ... including my own daughter (she's 23, yeah I started late) who seems to think the communist utopia is an achievable and good thing

I'm Perplexed as Some Long Gone Members Have Returned Which I Think is a Good Thing and Now it seems as though Our Original Core Group Ranks Are Either Not Coming in as Often or When They Do Posting is Minimal. Personal Health Issues are Again Slowing Me Down. But I Have Thought Perhaps I'm Trying too Hard to Make Changes and Maybe I should Slow Down Anyway & Let Water Seek it's Level.
I Just Wanted to Have People Feel Welcome in an Environment Where the Bad Habits I Feel, Such as Drama over Posting in the Incorrect Place or Responding in an Old Topic Not Knowing It Was a Question Asked Years Prior. Nothing Wrong Updating an Old Thread and If You Did Not Catch it, You Did Not Need to Be Bullied and Humiliated for this Oversite. Time & Time Again I Have Seen this Happen in Old Threads and The Op Usually a First Time Poster Never Came Back. Really Makes Me Mad!
As Far as Doc's Declaration That We are The Greatest Generation Let Me Expand on That! We are the Greatest Generation That Can Actually Help To Make a Change for the Better in this World By Example. Just Our Behavior on this Little Mustang Website Does Show Some Decency of Humanity is Still Out There. You Don't Have To Go Far on The Internet To Get Hate & Discontent. Here is Something You Really Need to Understand. How We Behave & How We Post Here is Not Just Seen By a Small Group of Posters! 10's & 100's of Thousands Read it as Guests! Think Hard About That! You Are All Stars on a Long Running Series!
Well That is What I Got To Say about That!

I will go one further than the fact that the core group here is getting along Kevin.
On a lot of the websites I used to moderate on it seemed like brand or model loyalty was enough to get along with the other side. With the rise of Social media that is a long lost idea now.
If I say anything else it will be in the wrong area so like you "that is all I have to say about that".

I agree this forum is mostly friendly and positive; and that's a good point: let's make an effort to keep it that way. It's OK to point out that a thread is 10 years old, but let's not be snarky about it; instead offer suggestions on how to get current information or a good response to a question. Being one of the old folks, I do get a little aggravated when obvious "young people" habits get in the way of good communication, like long run-on paragraphs without punctuation or line breaks, but we can be tolerant of those minor irritations.
For the most part, everyone seems to be here to help and share knowledge; let's keep it that way, and remember to keep it positive and polite.
I am not sure what to do, to attract more active posters. One thought -- what makes this site different, from the other Mustang boards? If we could come up with some kind of "theme" or "value proposition" that makes this site unique or different, and then reinforce that theme every chance we get, that might help.

I Think We Are Unique Here Currently and Using the Field of Dreams Theme If You Build it they Will Come Attitude Will Show Results in Real Time Vs The Hyper Accelerated Viral Video Results I Think We as a Society Have Come To Expect.
As A Vendor Here in the Past I Behaved Just As I Would Have in a Work Environment Where You Have To Deal With Customers of All Shapes & Sizes And Varying Issues. I Can Kid Around a Bit But Always Had to Draw The Line. At Least that was My thought Process. That is Pretty Much Ingrained into me After 30+Years in Retail/ Wholesale Ford Parts Sales.
As A Parts Counterman I Could Be More One of the Guys Than When I Was Manager. Same Applies To Me As an Admin. I Feel I Have to Set An Example and If I Were To Constantly Push The Envelope on Types of Allowable Posts it Just Encourages Others To Push it as Well. So I Post As Conservatively as I Can To Set the Tone. But I Do Joke around Just Not Raunchy. Really if That is What Some Folks Want A Lot of Other sites Offer That.
I Think We are on a Good Course and Have a Good Team to Help Keep the Ship on it's Current Course And a Fine Group of Active Members at The Present in a Bit of Active Flux as Things Settle in!

I still say the Baby Boomer generation worked harder than the newer spoiled generations. "They got their money for nothing and chicks for free" is their Song..
I am very jealous on how you guys pulled this off. Will you share the secret sauce?

OK, I started this for fun. I am sure that the Baby Boomer generation will never be among The Greatest Generation that stormed the Normandy Beaches and freed Europe. From the ****'s.
They did drugs. And called for world peace. None of that worked.
I am sure Generation X (born 1965-1980) will get it done.

Doc,
While I Understand Your Comments and From the View of Mainstream Media I Think a Lot of the Propaganda Out There takes Every Chance Available to Create Division Among You Name it From Generation to Color To Religion Etc. It is Up to Us as Individuals to Lead By example in Our Own Lives. Why are we Here on TMS. I Hope to Cultivate an Environment Where Those So Called Differences as Left at The Door. A Mustanger is Certainly a Mustanger for the Most Part in Here. Those That Are Comfortable in a Hostile & Unkind Environment Have Plenty of Sites to go To. That's Where a Lot of Our Banned Members Ended Up.
The Problem with Topics Like this is They Start Out Innocent Enough but Can Go South in a Heartbeat. Having Gone through Many Old Threads Here Recently Both Still Extant and Others Sent to the Graveyard I like to be Proactive Before They Go that Route. I Have Seen time & Time Again a Dogpile of Posts Which are Not Benefitting the Site.

KC,
I agree with you 100%.
Yet, most guys (like me) like to speed a quick look on social media forums, Hence, my quick look at complicated things with a sentence.

We need to get to a point that we as enthusiast of all ages come together as Mustang Owners no matter what demographics seem to pull you apart or say you are different.
There are a lot of thing that need long research to fix, I have seen Kevin bringing old threads back to the top to bring stuff out in search engines on page one that also brings more peeps in. It seems like if you have a problem he can find the fix somewhere on the site.

As An FYi, We Had 4 New Members Sign Up Yesterday! And None Were Spammers! Some Days I Get 4 Spammers Sign up the Same Day as Well! Viewers Seem to Be on the Rise Still at Peak Times.
New Members are a Rarity and Maybe Only Here Long Enough to Solve a Problem. I Personally try to Look at a Problem as a Challenge or Puzzle to Solve. You Have to Want to Be The Answer or at Least Part of The Answer. For Me The Best Threads Have Multiple Members Adding to the Solution But Sometimes a Certain Issue Falls right in to a Certain Members Greatest Skill and Then in That Case It Best Serves The Op By Letteing them Run With It.
You Gotta Stand Back and Determine Do I Want to Add To a Thread or Not! Sometimes Just Agreeing with Somebody Else Helps The Op Move Forward.
Whether or not a Member Stays after getting a problem solved is about their Personal Choice. At this Point I think we Just Let it Happen. Look For Things you Enjoy & Can Share and Do Some Threads. I'm trying to take a More Relaxed Position and Not Be The Guy Thats Posts Everywhere. That is Tough on the Weekend Where The Regulars are Scarce.
If I Don't think I Can Help on a Post I Still May Try & Get Some Response so the Op Does not Feel Ignored. Don't want to Be the Guy Who Shows Up at the Party and The Person Answering The Door Goes Oh it's You! Well, C'mon in I Guess! You Want to Be Norm at Cheers!
Let's Try & Have Fun & Be a Welcome Environment!

I say the mid age 1950's guys are smarter. The middle age typical guys are highly motivated. And got the best-looking girls. it's what we did in our spare time.
