I need a new TV

This is, of course, my own opinion, and others might have a better or worse idea.
LED backlighting is the best. They're thinner, cooler, and as the whole thing about these screens (for the most part) is all about the backlight, having an LED instead of a flourescent tube or other less reliable lighting source makes a ton of sense. And did I mention it's thinner and cooler (and therefore less energy to run?)
The 3d thing is optional, and totally depending on whether you want it or not, and have all the other equipment, want to buy the brandnewest and taking chances, and like wearing at this time wired glasses that require something to be wired to. I'd skip it myself, until they come out with proper non-wired 3d.
After that... it's preference. You like Samsung, LG, Westinghouse, etc, ad nauseum... have fun.
You might want to go to Newegg.com, for example, because of the feedback the customers give. It can be very helpful in your decision making.

Thanks.
I'm leaning toward http://www.crutchfield.com/p_68942LD...ssi=0&tp=35975
Unless I decide to go Vizio. Then it's http://www.walmart.com/ip/Vizio-42-C...ReviewTitleBar
But I'm not happy about the refresh rate.

From what i've read 3D tv is crap. The good thing about 3D tv's is they brought down the prices of LED tv's! Or you could always take the money you would put toward a 46" LED and pick up a much bigger plasma. Personally i'd go for a Samsung LED, just because i'm a brand ***** like that.

You have a point, besides I'm not an "early adopter". I need a high refresh rate and I'm also intrigued (sp) with the web access feature on the LG. The Vizio would just replace what I have.

I recently got a 47" Magnabox 1080P for $699 at Target less 10% for applying for their credit card. It is not 3D but the picture is as good as I've seen.

We just got a new LCD TV last year. And I did pretty extensive research, and the three brands consistently reviewed the highest were (in no particular order): Sony, Samsung, and LG. Check those out.
I agree with the LED backlighting being the better choice, mainly because those bulbs will last considerably longer.
Don't even bother with the 3D TV. Not worth it, IMO.

I was just talking to a coworker who saw this TV at Best Buy: http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/t...ype=prd_detail
And was saying there were no glasses. No wires. Just watch, and it's 3d.
I was... rather impressed at that, to be honest, but I've not seen it myself, so I can't corroborate, and maybe his glasses he wears worked with the TV.
