We rode out a catagory 4 hurricane, George, a few years ago when we lived in the Dominican Republic. The eye went right over us; what an experience! But not one I'd like to repeat.

Good luck, everyone.

We are still just north of the end of it. Its two counties south right this second.

Eleanor is safe in the horse house. The alero is parked under an oak.

We are looking at 70 MPH winds. BUT that looks like Cindy the other day.

We have the Governer on the news.

I have batteries, I have radio.......I have food. I have magazines and books and yarn to do crafts with.

Tomorrow I will prolly have to drive to Atlanta looking like a hag with no power.

I was planning a weekend trip to PCB before school starts..Doesn't look like its happening.

This is also holding up my house construction.

Current conditions out my garage door:

During Ivan my parents were down in Perry County- 50 miles from the middle of nowhere. They didn't have power for 3 weeks. They drove 2 hours a day up here to take showers.

They put their house for sale the day after they got power and moved back here.

Grr. I don't mind rain. I do mind a house under construction that can be fricked up, I do mind no power.

I will however keep water, water is important.

I do not know what to do without coffee in the morning though.

I take this opportunity to state:
Don't miss me too much......The power will be fleeing me soon and the laptop is dead.

They say the eye is going to hit Pensacola now.

What in the Hades are you doing in Oak Grove? Tornado Alley!

Have many happy weeks without power over there!

I am happily over here in Alabaster with 60 cokes, plenty of Enjoyments- and YES power!
Now as long as it doesn't screw up my cool house.....

its drizzling here right now. But where I am at is projected to get some 50+ mph sustained winds and gust even higher. To top it off, the ground is super saturated alreayd.

Three hours apart. The garage door you see is the egg throwing heathens house.

Its raining quite good here. I don't know if its gonna get bad or not.

Who kehs? Unlike Ivan I have amusement this time. What this means is we will not lose power. I nearly went stir crazy last time.

When that kind of weather hits here (and you know it does) I just set my alarm on the cell phone and forget the rest. One time I lost power 7 times, I reset everything the next day.
